16 year old gas boiler...its ancient f**k it off and put a nice new Worc Bosch in. If its a smallish system then for for a 4000 with 10 year guarantee, or an 8000 (better boiler) with 12 years guarantee depending on your system. Would you spend money on keeping a 16 year old van on the road?

I wouldn’t personally consider a 16 year old boiler particularly ancient - I’d be disappointed if a boiler needs chucking away at that age.

Depends. Oil boilers usually better life Combis age faster and a 16 year old combi may not be a good investment.

My combi boiler at home is nearly 16 years old 🫣

I just spent quite a bit keeping the 19year old van on the road. Still keeper than depreciating a new one!!

Yeah, I smile knowing my 20 year old lorry does the exact same job as a 150k new one. Bar 1 vehicle everything I own is over 11 years old and still does the same job as a new one would do.

Fitted the fan the board has gone too. New boiler ordered fitting it Monday

Had one this morning, diagnosed his own faulty boiler and the parts required. Has collected and fitted part. Boiler still not working Going on Monday to try and get it going, no chance I’m fitting a new one before xmas!

My mate changed it this morning phoned to say board was gone. Thankfully they are taking the fan back so at least that's not wasted money
