8 hours continuous run time and short charge time is pretty impressive. If it were a reasonable price I would have thought it would be a winner. Trouble is electric vehicles don’t seem to be a reasonable price at present.

wonder who owns the batteries in it  .... most cars, you never do  ..... if one had to meet the cost of them, the car would be prohibitively expensive

It looks very smart and it’s the way machines are going, and perfect for round town......Komatsu have similar sticks in there dozers and there really nice to use, far better than else that’s around on machines, very comfortable.

Hmm, looks quite good that. Appears to have an angle, adjustable blade too.

Most cars have leased batteries although some do offer the option to buy the battery although expensive.
Looks decent although don't really see the point in the clock on the counterweight.
Fair enough electric will be quiet but surely the pumps will still be making noise plus the associated digging and tipping sounds.

Out of interest would the batteries be better off in the undercarriage to keep as much weight down low

the trouble with these electric vehicles is ..... you can't hear the sods coming  ...... one of our neighbours used to have a Prius and it's caught me out a few times:( ... you CAN NOT hear the bloody thing behind you:eek: ..... a street full of the damned things is a recipe for an accident .... they're going to have to start making them make some sort of oncoming noises, before folks get run down

it had to come ........

" FM Conway adds noise tech to quiet vans .. The advent of clean engine technology and electric vehicles has addressed air pollution problems but has made construction sites more dangerous places to work. "

What a waste of money. You are supposed to look before stepping into the road. What happens if a cyclist is passing? Will they soon have to have noise machines?

'fraid i don't agree Gra, :( having been 'snuck up on' many times by a stealth Prius and had the beejeezus scared out o' me by a tonne of tin box so close i could sit on the bonnet  ..... you genuinely can not hear the bloody things  ..... I agree with the looking bit, but vehicles can come up pretty quick sometimes.
as for cyclists ..... you're not likely to find yerself laid under one inspecting the sump :) ... buggers should be registered, taxed, MOT-ed and insured anyway ... wanna use the road - contribute .... as for the new 1500mm clearance rule for passing them .... you'd have to follow 'em for ****in' miles on some roads

That will be mega money. I rang up about an electric pedestrian dumper the other day and he wanted £22,000!

You’re joking!! What brand?? I bet it was that ‘bendi’ brand, they’re well overpriced.

Messersi I think. The diesel/petrol ones were £8-9000. It's a shame because a battery dumper would be perfect for me.

That’s ridiculous. Battery forklifts and diesel forklifts are similar price. They’re taking the piss.

this is a very interesting article ...... " Shock: Electric Vehicles Emit More CO2 Than Diesel Cars "
"Electric vehicles may be cool (when their battery packs are not on fire) but they are more dangerous to the environment than diesel counterparts. All the eco-nuts who think they are saving the world by driving EVs are totally deceived by marketing propaganda. "

I read a survet a while ago about catalytic convertors on petrol engines
Aparentlly to work properly they must run at a certain temperature and to reach this temperature usually takes around 10mins of run time.
The average car journey are less than this (school runs, shops etc etc)so these eco wonders are pumping out more harmful gasses than without a cat!
Bring back the Wartburg!!!
