Help, buying a JCB 533-105 telehandler

Alright guys, hopefully yous can serve me some advice on buying a JCB 533-105 telehandler, first time buying one and want to know what to look out for.
Its coming from Morris Leslie in Errol, its a 2003 model so will have been used plenty.
Whats the main areas of wear on these machines and is there any common thing to watch for?
Any info will be appreciated,

Its got decals of a construction company on the side, it certainly has some rust on the front end!
No pictures of the inside only these.
Im going to view the machine tomorrow so il take pictures while im there.

That’s been on the salt, buyer beware! Everything will be seized up and squeak like a bitch! Wants to be cheap..! Morris Leslie service everything really well, but I’d says that’s a partex rather than their own machine!

yeah that wants to be really cheap. Its not ex morris leslie its to old its ex salt shoveling or in a very harsh condition / substance.

You could try calling the number on the machine to find out a bit about it.

The salt gets every where mucks up all the electrical system everything and jcbs of that age don't have the most amazing electrics to begin with

On the plus side they are great machines , had mine nearly 5 months now and would never be without it! Just need to sort out a heater issue - they are stuck on full blast but I believe it just needs a new LPM so hopefully a easy fix.

The pins on the jack legs are a problem an seize up. We saw about 4 seized ones before we bought ours.

The salt does indeed get litrally everywhere, there is no amount of paint to sort, when you open the cab door everything inside will be the same ,

It is not dear we sold a 2002 for 16 or 16 k last year but also that was mint

I’m afraid I wouldn’t buy that for my stock however given it’s 12k it might do a turn

You will never keep paint on machine that has been in salt. (But then you would struggle to with any JCB )Best you can do is keep spraying with light oil 10/30 or even lower viscosity.

To be honest it doesn't look bad enough to have been in salt. However if it has then walk away now!
It's not just the paint, it's the electrical system the hoses everything that can be corroded gets it! It gets in places that you wouldn't believe.
I have worked on salt machines and they are a nightmare! One really bad one that broke just about overheat could be broken

Ok so the advice is to leave any machine that's worked with salt, I will give a good investigation tomorrow to try and establish the history.

That won’t be salt related, it’s from Thurso, it will have been exposed to the elements. Same happens to our gear over in the western isles, can make a relatively new bit of gear look old and tatty

I was thinking that, it looks like the machine belonged to a construction company for a number of years is would have carried out construction related works, Thurso will be exposed to heavy elements so that would have an impact on a 2003 machine.
I will get a good look tomorrow and see.
