@Mikey some solid words of advice.
"If it ain't broke don't f**k with it".
Re bushing a machine is mildly easy, but needs additional tooling/lifting gear that you won't have. It's one of those jobs that is worth throwing a fistful of dollars to someone else with a forklift and a ram/press to do.
Equally don't get over exeberant on trying to squeeze all the oil out of it like a pissed teenager takes a lemon with tequila.
Basic, it ain't broke. Drop the oil that's in the tank and replace, same with engine oil and filters.
Most important thing to change is the final drive oils. Well worth flushing those out multiple times if they have never been done

Thanks, I'll take all that on board....especially the final drive part.
It's not that the machine is broken, it's just the arm is flopping around like a limp dick....Don't want it getting any worse and need welding/boring.
Been quoted around £750 for all the pins and bushes, not sure if they all need doing yet. I'm waiting for the guy who digs my driveway jobs to give me his contact for doing the work go from there with it.

Have you tried taki dealer for pins and bushes? I've absolutely no idea what they will be like on price but sometimes you can get a surprise (i mean a good one not a htf do they get to that).

I haven't yet, been recommended a few places and they are all similar.
Spoke to Takeuchi for a price for the service, over £300 for basically an oil change, didn't include hydraulic either.....put me off asking about pins but I'll try them tomorrow.

have to admit, I'd misread this and thought the machine only has 350 hours on it.
Any idea of its service history?

Not much info on it really. 2006 model. Did all the checks to make sure it was legitimate, which it is. I bought it in 2011/2012, the clock was only showing 300 ish hours but I was informed it had a new engine fitted. Checked it over with a friend and for the money, age , etc it was in good condition.
I had it serviced a couple of times in the early years when I put on most of the hours. I've only had one repair to do, a leaking hose on a job, cost £48 and back on the mud in under two hours. The repair guy even gave me a couple of litres of oil too.
The machine hasn't been used for the last three years. I've started it up now and then when I've needed to move the arm out of the way of other tools. It's always been stored in a dry garage.
The biggest mistake I have made was lending it to my brother for a few days, somehow he managed to bend the bucket link so I couldn't fit the pin through once I'd removed the bucket...knob.
I have only just replaced that this week, seemed no point doing it earlier when I wasn't using it. Buckets go on nicely now so I can lift it off the ground confidently. I think the slop in the arm has probably come from his use (read abuse).
That's about it really. Engine fire ups straight away and doesn't smoke, throttle responds well. Gave it a good clean and grease yesterday and everything works as it should although a little sloppy. The workshop manual has all the "standards for judging performance". After I've done the service over the next few days I plan on going through the list to see if that shows anything else to be aware of.
