Have just gotten off the phone to a lovely gent who mentioned that our name crops up here from time to time and that it would be a good idea to say hello!

We're based in Plymouth, Devon and have been supplying starters and alternator since the '80s. We've a lot of experience and can generally supply/deliver any 12V (and most 24V) units within 24hrs. Happy to field questions members may have re: starter/alternator issues!

I’d say it’ll be a tenner well spent , a few guys on here pedal their wares and stand by their products and get a great reception for doing so .

PAS changed it's name?

PAS is still going as the trade counter for the local area. The Starter Motor & Alternator Co Ltd is our original name (from the old Exeter street branch) which we've kept going for the websites, national presence etc..

I was looking on their website and what I had just taken off didn't seem to quite match up, quick phone call and they ran me through what changed and when.
It is impressive and confidence inspiring just how much product knowledge they have

Bugger I just got a starter motor for my Ford 5610 just got to fit it over the weekend. I seem to have about five starter motors from Fermec's and 3CX's that are scrap or require reconditioning but its cheaper to buy new nowadays.

Yes, can't say I've ever had to give the old unit back or get charged an excess in years and years.

Yes, can't say I've ever had to give the old unit back or get charged an excess in years and years.

We've brought back reconning of 12V automotive alternators in the past few years in a big way, but yes service exchange on 12V and smaller 24V starters, especially plant/agri/machinery, is pretty much dead in the UK. Not "economically viable" is the polite term.
