New to the forum, but have lurked for a little while.
Has anyone got much experience with Takeuchi 2150r? We’re in the process of thinking of potential replacements for a JCB JS130. We get on well with our smaller Takeuchi’s but the bigger ones are all new to us!
Current options for us are a JCB 140x or the Takeuchi

No nothing of what the 2150 is like to use personally (but I'm told they are a good tool) but i do know they are dear compared to others in the 14 ton bracket.

Never driven one but have been on sight with one of the big taks with the kingpost fitted and it had one hell of a reach was an absolute monster of a machine sat next to conventional 13tonners

They do look a monster in that setup. If we went down the Tak route it would be a normal fixed boom. Don’t really need an offset boom and I’m told it’s a dear option!

Well i wouldn't know tbh but i wouldn't have thought jcb would be priced at the top end of the 14 ton class which is where I'm told the taki is.
The 14/15 ton takeuchi's are too dear in comparison to others in class and they know it hence the only machine they offer 0% finance on

I prefer the mono boom on an 8 tonner. Perhaps I am just just behind the times!!

Depends actually whether he's on about the 2150 (kingpost and blade) or 2150r (fixed boom and blade as option). Personally at 14 ton i wouldn't want a kingpost.

my mistake it would be the 2150r then. Currently we’re looking at a fixed boom with no blade. Hopefully getting a go in one in the new year if we’re actually allowed out!
Had a quick play in a 140x but jcb don’t currently have a demonstrator available so we weren’t able to test it out properly!

No experience but Takeuchi 13 tonne machines are very well respected and there resale is insane compared to the black and yellow

Not run a 2150R.... They look a very nice machine and i've not heard much negativity about them.

I occasionally sit on a 220X JCB.... the X series are a vast improvement over the JS and a very nice mount.... just get a good warranty and chase em for there dogshit paintwork.... I actually rate the 20t machine as one of the best machines i've ever sat on. and the 140X would be on my list of things to try if I ever won the lottery.

They still haven’t fixed the paint then! Doesn’t seem like anyone can do paint right anymore!
We’ve always been big fans of the JCB’s overall not just the diggers but, Im looking forward to trying the Takeuchi.

No experience of the TB2150 at all, but just recently got to try out a 150X and it is a great machine.. very smooth.

I had a new one(2018 2150r) at the beginning of 2019, the feel on the slew function was not good, felt like it was a on/off switch at slow speeds, when you needed it the most, also it had a grabby feel to the hydraulics, again at slow speeds.
After a year of discussion's, 2 visits from the uk MD with reps from Japan and a few test drives on a 2019 model they took it back off me, the 2019 model was a lot better even though I was told the updates to mine were the same as 2019.
I did suggest swapping machines with the one I'd had a test drive on, this was declined, can't fault Takeuchi or the dealer just think I had one with few issues

They still haven’t fixed the paint then!

The paint is f****ng horrific. I can't plaster photo's up as its supposedly going to be fixed but that may change if the promises made prove to be empty. But it's a f****ng embarrassment.

I can't fault anything else on it. It's a fantastic machine and has a lot to give. It's proved to be pretty reliable after a few teething issues which tbh where dealt with swiftly. Lovely cab to be in and yeah I enjoy running it and I see no reason the 140x would be any different.

But the paint..... well it's that f****ng bad you'd be embarrassed if you sold it.
