Never used it anywhere near enough when I was younger and now find my hearing to be fecked.
One of my new years resolutions is to sort this out and get some protection that isnt going to sit in the van. Problem I have with the normal ear muffs is they get hot and sweaty and you lose situational awareness around you. I have used plugs which are a better but trying to put them in with dirty hands isnt the best and still have the problem of situational awareness.
Was having a chat to a shooting buddy in anticipation of boxing day and mentioned my fecked hearing, he said he uses 3M plugs that allow you to hear normally while giving max protection. I tried them and have to say its the best of both worlds. I'd get used to just leaving them in all day so when the racket starts when you happen to walk past you are protected.
Now the bad bit, they are expensive at nearly £400 but once you have have got the dreading ringing in the ears trust me you would pay £40000 to make it stop. So they are on my Christmas list this year.
