Has anyone installed a Hydraulic Motor? I need some general advice.

Hi,

I have just purchased a new Hydraulic Motor, and I need to install it in my machine.

I have read the instructions, and it says to fill it with oil before putting it back into service.

I want to give it the best chance.

I was thinking about doing this?

1. Fill the motor with oil up to the inlet level.
2. Insert motor.
3. Connect the two threaded hydraulic hoses and tighten to the torque settings.
4. Get a hydraulic engineer out to fill the machine with oil and bleed any air from the system.
5. Run the track for 10 - 15 minutes to work the oil around the part.

Does that sound ok, or am I missing anything?

I also need to know where to get a decent amount of ISO 46 Hydraulic Oil.

might as well let them do the whole job as you don't sound confident about tackling it

Unbolt old motor, throw it away. Bolt in new motor, fit hoses, start machine and drive it.

Stop machine and top up to level.

That’s literally all there is to it.
