My other half is an occupational therapist dealing with alot of age related mobility issues in the elderly after hip replacements and the like but the worst cases are nearly always the types who get too comfortable in retired life. The body is designed to move and keep going and sitting around too much is the worst thing for it. Not saying go run a marathon is good either but just keep active and the mind engaged

This has an approach of use it or lose it. If you can’t do it when you are 60, how do you expect to do it when you are 70!! It works by improving your health span.

Agreed with that of keeping active into old age (y)
Next year I'll reach the BIG SEVEN OH and I'm still running up to Half Marathons and do the Parkrun every week

many thanks to all the above for the Birthday wishes ...
although, as Pam says, it's a cause to celebrate yet another year " 'upright, breathing and under my own steam' ", I tend to view it more these days as a year, I won't get back/closer to the box  ...
a little 'pessimistic' perhaps, but something that you don't really tend to think about at 30/40/50 even  - 's a long way off -
not so much these days
I'd like to make Clara's 21st ... and Harper's too ..... hell I'd like to see 100 - as long as everything's 'working' OK :giggle: and can still get about/do what I like
