Just to complete the thread. I ended up getting the pollor auger. It looked a copy of the hyundai to me. Paid 120 inc vat so a ton by the time that comes back. I may sell it soon after this job and 1 or 2 others in the pipeline after my recent experience with fuel gumming up. It could be ages till I need one again and I can prob get a ton for it when im done. I found we had to lift the turf with the shovel first then it worked a lot easier. Gave it a test in my garden the other week and was great. Did all the holes fine for us today. A 300mm auger would be great as
@V8Druid has but then again this machine might struggle. It wasn't too much effort to trim the hole out after. Theres deffo a knack to using them dont let it go crazy digging itself in hold it up a touch so it keeps spinning. Probably telling you all how to suck eggs! Anyway just wanted to close the thread off
