Spent an hour and a half chatting with the latest member of the H.D.O.C. this afternoon .... he's in love I think .... or he will be soon if he isn't already :) .. he's a bit of a Big Mac fan and is already appreciating the 'built to a spec., not a budget' engineering in his new mount ....... doubtless he'll 'break cover' at some point .. can't wait for all this hibernating shite to abate, so' I can come put a face to the name/voice and have a 'play' .......... enjoy Boyo :giggle::giggle: ... you have the Purdey of the duck world (y)

Looking forward to meeting a like mind!!
Will be an interesting learning curve but one that I am looking forward too!! Certainly different from sitting on tracks! The Engcon made it happen!! Going to be mainly used for material handling as the only bucket is 1600mm wide. I little too wide for service trenches!!

not so much living under a rock Rory as been humping several tonnes of 'em about ... ( had to re-bag this lot yet again, as the original'd given up the uneven struggle with UV )

Would you consider an application as a non-owning associate member?

I've not driven a Hydrema for 30 years or so now but have a great respect for them. I used to work for a civils contractor who had two of the ten ton artic dump trucks (Perkins/ZF/Hamwothy).

For a while we had the demonstrator of the wheeled "equivalent" of the JCB 3c based in the yard and I was lucky enough to snaffle it for weeks at a time  .
It was mind boggling how good it was, back end felt as good as being on a 360 and the front end felt as good as the ten ton shovel. Didn't seem to sell though as it was reckoned to be only affordable to owner operators. I was impressed that in a tight road it was easy to dig up one side and dump the spoil in the front bucket on the opposite corner

It was rather fun seeing our regular dump truck driver go for a spin on the muck pile at the SED ....... not at all sure that the Ripon crew knew just how stable their product was o_O

Have many happy memories of them and still get the twitchy feeling on sales sites :):)
