Unless it has a very powerful set of closing hydraulics it will have very very limited use.
When you tink a kingshoffer clamshell on a grab lorry doesn't particularly like concrete breakout or heavy clay. I can't image it being much use for anything other than loose materials.

this has got two rams per side so should have a serious bite

can't imagine it taking kindly to half a 9" block in one side though .... doesn't look like it'd stick any distortion

Just watched the video- it barely gets half a skip full. And that'll get worse as the pile gets smaller too.

You really would be better off with a loader.,

Not exactly position for maximum leverage and they have atleast 3 times the surface area of a kinshoffer. A kinshoffer will grip tight enough to pick up one of those concrete blockages the 2m long ones. Yet it won't fully close round a bucket full of clay.

Set it up like a mini skip handler few cheap
Standard micro skips with it and bulk bag lifter I could use it but like other said just set a loader

I saw it at Plantworx. I wasn’t that impressed. As you say, it was struggling to get a good skip full. And it’s fairly complicated compared to a traditional self loading dumper.
Not for me.

Here's my thoughts......
Two auld lads were drinking in a pub somewhere in North West London one Friday evening, possibly second generation Irish.
As the drink flowed so did the shite talk, and the inevitable "do you know what I reckon would be a great job" and so the grumper idea was conceived.
As the Gunness turned to Jameison the sketches started on the back of beer mats and the crazier and more complex the design got.
Now around about 8.30 the young Polish fitter/welder that works for one of these aul lads walks in. He is swiftly called over and shown the latest design and told, tomorrow we want you to take that old dumper down the yard that was rolled and make this! He shrugged his shoulders and Downed his last vodka and heads home as he has a busy weekend ahead.
7.30 Monday morning aul lad no. 1 opens the workshop door to a strong smell of paint fumes and a bright orange "grumper" in front of him.
Feck me he thinks and goes a books a plot at plant works straight away.

Now all he has to do is watch the orders roll in😁
