Tim Rayner (Traxcavator) recommended them to me .. he swore by Alemite ... as said mine are chrome CAT branded Alemite guns ... found someone doing them mega cheap on ebay .. I had two and IIRC Rory had two also ...

and talking of Rory, he's been very quiet the last few days .. better ring him tomorrow, see if he's still upright - I know he's having big issues with his hand he broke a few months ago and did nothing about, despite being told to get it seen to :(

I got one of the cat ones aswell
There was a brand new alemite on eBay yesterday for a fiver, I don't think it sold.

there's a second hand CAT one on there too .... was gonna look at the part no.s on mine to see if they match .. but it was 30 quid for a very dirty looking item ... WTF don't people just put a rag over things before listing

got it in one ... never have to touch the spent cartridge ... Smith and Allen also have a full perimeter lip that sits on the end of the gun's body

as said " Smith and Allen also have a full perimeter lip that sits on the end of the gun's body " ... only the body of the cartridge fits into the gun's tube .. lip sits on the end and the cap screws down onto it

pop the end cover off and slip it in ...
this un's a bit messy, been sweating in a very warm box ......
pull the ring pull once it's in the gun's body and screw the cap back on

Talking of grease this fella uses a lot🤯

Not quite sure it’s all required but I’ve never ran such a setup so can’t really comment…. But I’m pretty sure most of it is being dispersed into the field 🤦‍♂️

When it gets to that extent it's worth considering autolube systems. Wasn't there a forum member doing autogreasers 🤔
😄
that was CEF ... was Julian's (TVHC) mainstay (dunno as he ever had any takers from the forum though)

Fuchs now come in the toolbox on new Hitachi's. I tried one but couldn't get it to work. Then pushed the plunger down and everything exploded so it got thrown in the workshop whilst I got my alemite from the truck.
Different threads on the Hitachi ones to fushs
