generator sizing

hi guys i looking for a bit of help way above my skill set i am looking for a geny to run my inverter welder below is the plate from it what size of genny do i need to get to run it with a bit of sense

it is only 200amp so that helps a bit just didn't want to spend £2k on a welder genny

You'll need 10kva min.
Prob cheaper and better with genset if it's regular job?

You'll probably need a 16amp plug to run it properly, it might run off a 13amp socket if you are not using high amps. What are you looking to be welding?
If you plan to run it off Genny it needs to be a pucker one, there has been many inverter welders come to an early end because they were being used on a Genny that wasn't fit for it.
I won't let our guys use one on anything less than our Lincoln vantage. I think it's about 10kva, might be overkill but we've had them fail on Genny's that were supposedly big enough.

Some inverter welders have an extra circuit to deal with the instability of generators
Some will even run on anything from 100v to 260v

i have a step up transformer 110 volt to 240 and will work on low setting running off my 7 kva generator( no 240v on this genny) but i am looking for something better got a couple of jobs lined up for it.

Unless you upgrade to a pure sign wave generator I believe you still need a generator compatible welder as I think that is what causes the problems much like most things with a circuit board and plugged into a standard generator

I run my 210 amp mig on a 6kVa for low amps stuff like car panels & a 15kVa on full power for thick stuff.

Even on low power the 6kVa gats a hammering. On full power the 15kVa hardly notices unless I short it out. But its a PTO genny so has 58HP behind it which is lots more than most 15kVa's would have.

This is on a transformer mig.
Inverter migs dont need as much kVa but do like the voltage to be stable.
