Gas bottle trolley

Ordered an SIP gas bottle trolley and was utterly dismayed at the s**t that arrived. Flimsy wasn't the word! Seing as 'ultra heavy duty' trolleys were north of £400 and didn't look that much better I had a look in the spares draw and threw one together. Probably cost me £40 in steel and wheels plus a couple of hours. So long as I paint it eventually I'd fully expect my grandkids to still be using it.

Why is nothing built properly these days?

I hate myself for buying these, because now I'm probably on some mailing list for sad old pricks who like Lambrettas. What is the world coming to when there are grown ass men riding scooters? Anyway, they are a perfect fit for 27mm OD round stock. Needs must when the devil drives...

Now I know this forum is pouplated by men rather than wimpy little boys, so as such you will naturally be wondering what the motorbike jacket is for, as I sure as hell wouldn't have a scooter. I picked this up last month on a whim, and really like it. Small, nippy, air cooled Honda simplicity . 650 single, great for nipping into town to beat the traffic and also OK for a bit of offroad if needed. Same colour scheme as my beloved XR125 from years ago.

Hey - I ride a scooter (amongst other things).
In my defense, it's a case of "when in Rome, ...".
Where I live, if you ride anything over 150cc, you look like a try-hard and attract the attention of the police (something I don't need).

I think there are a few of us like bikes on here .... and Grahams got a stash of em.

I have that for riding round pricing on and having a scratch ..... must be one of the best road bikes ever made - well done KTM and Jeremy MCWilliams

I paid £1500 for the Honda, but you can pick them up for less. Had a fresh MOT and two new tyres, bloke had just been made redundant so I felt sorry for him plus he let me had a good half hour test ride and I just fell in love. So much more nimble than my BMW F650, despite only 10kgs less dry on paper. And no stupid fairings to pull off every time you want to do basic maintenance!

Pam didn't like the pillion on this one ... so had to part with it KZ1300 Touring ..... 12k Californian miles

God awful colour though

Big Zed's replacement ..... if she didn't like the back seat of this one, I gave up .... only bike I've ever owned that:-
eats front tyres faster than rears (but that might be over-exuberance/enthusiasm ) ..
and tyre noise is 'an issue' !!

I started on a xt500 and have tried most engine configurations, but I always go back to a big single. I'm currently bike less, put all my money in to tools but would love a crf450l or KTM 690 enduro one day.

ah the ubiquitous XT5 ..... was yours a bitch to start too ?
still got an XT600 Tenere .... a different beast altogether .. everything the 5 should've been ....... and wasn't .... but i did love my 5 ... foibles and all
390KTM was the biggest one of them I had ... or was it a 350 ???? long time ago ... mate had a 500 which kept breaking his leg .. kicking back ... I'd have sold the ba**ard thing after the first time ..... broke his three times 'fore he saw the light

yeh it was a nice example --- sadly, so did the guy who came to buy it ..... didn't ever plan on parting with it .... before the body let me down and I wasn't earning any longer ... things got tight for a while and some things/toys had to go ..... if yer's self employed and get ill, DO NOT expect any help ... especially from yer med ins. ..... if it's inherited, forget it ... Aviva will never have another penny out of me

Every week I rode back from college it needed cleaned and dried points before it would start. You had to kick it like you mean it incase it kicked back. I've still got it but is now a basket case.
Bike in the picture is a KTM 990 adv. I did a bit of green Laning on it but it's just too heavy for off road.

I love my 990 - handy for getting home after dropping kit to site too!

lights're probably in the perforated rear cross member Mike ... but.... C&U reg.s do not require lights on trailers during daylight hours. If fitted they MUST work, but are not a mandatory requirement .... hand signals should be given

Nice I like the white ones. I was going to say how did you get it up there and then I saw the hiab . They are cool but a bit scary off road. A few seconds on the throttle and you've got to try and stop 200kg of 60mph bike on gravel or mud. A lot of fun to try and drift with all the grunt and weight.
