Fuse box location

I have a Schaeff HR16 1999.

It has suddenly started flattening bats fast.

On checking it has a 5 amp draw when turned off.

Want to pull fuses to see if that can narrow it down.

Anyone know where they are?

Cant believe I have had it this long & not needed to change a fuse yet.

Under the cover under the right arm rest.

I now know DOH was covered in all by bits.

Ok update.

pulling all the standard fuses no change.
Pull the 30 fuse no change
Pull the 60 amp fuse stops it.
Also stops the glow plugs & poss fuel pump but not ignition lights & cranking. Engine does not start.

Anyone have the workshop manual for it?

All the online ones look like spam links.

seem to recall that they have a glow plug relay that gives issues ...... have read it somewhere

Cheers

That matches with what I have found the 60 amp fuse does.

Now to find the relay.

Its not in the fuse box.

There is a box in the engine bay that might be it.

Hard work doing this in what is almost a storm.

Ok found the glow plug controller but called it a day as its just so bad here.

What man as done, man can do, what never has, maybe
Keep us posted on the cure🤔

It’s what I do!
Glow plug relay does leak a little and flatten batteries, with the ignition off meter the glow plug and earth, usually leaking 5v downwards. Let us know?

could also be your stop coil by the looks of it .... might've died and gone to earth

this one on a JD gator thing literally blew its guts out

With 60 amp fuse in & ignition on the glow plug warning lamp now no longer works.

Cranks over but no attempt to start.

Sure there is no fuel getting in as no smoke at all.

jump a good cable to the glow plugs to warm 'em up and see if it'll start ;) .... relay'd be prime suspect then

Plan for tomorrow:-
meter fuel valve with ignition on/off
meter glow plugs with ignition on/off
meter relay with ignition on/off

Then as you say bypass relay to glow plugs.
Followed by power up fuel valve if no power with ignition on.
Only bit concerned about is fuel valve as that has 3 wires & the diagram I have does not show individual wires just looms & plugs.

Might be time to replace the current ignition switch for a 4 position one with pre heat & wire it all up myself.

that Gator was the same ..... one is start, one is run and an earth ... think the Gator had an 'extrafuel' position

Can you take the stop solenoid out? The three wires will allow a high-current ‘start’ that pulls the spring in (usually held while glowplugs are on and engine is cranking) and a lower current engine-running ‘hold’ that is the usual position once everything is running I’d imagine. Often the hold circuit is subsequently interrupted by oil pressure switch etc to shut everything down if there’s a fault.
If you can unscrew the stop solenoid you can watch what it does whilst turning the key.

All great suggestions but dont cover the current drain while turned off.

no detectable voltage at glow plugs, fuel solenoid or preheat relay.
Yet pulling the fuse that only does pre heat stops it.

Also oddly pulling fuse & inserting amp meter in its place shows no current.

It’s what I do!
There would be a current drain if the fuel stop solenoid has melted internally and both holding current and or earth are in contact with the throwing in winding, you can take the stop solenoid out and run it, to stop it push the rack tab in. On the solenoid the holding current is on with the ignition, the earth can be both threw oil pressure or fixed ground, throwing current only on start either via a timer relay or through starter motor exciter wiring.

if the relay has gone to earth it wouldn't show voltage at the plugs

where are you measuring your drain from anyway .... a n other possibility is your alternator reg or rec.
