my mate Simon has a friend with some Russian thing down near Usk .... it spends more time down than it does being driven round his farm

when I was doing my 3 year teaching qualifications in Bristol, in the '70s, G/F at the time - her old man was a Brigadier in the REME and had always promised to get me a day in a Chieftain, on Salisbury plain ... sadly never happened ... would've been a great day though

one night going back to Bristol, I got passed on the M32 by three Scorpions going like **** ... passed 'em half a mile later on the hard shoulder - one of 'em with smoke pouring out the back of it

And then to finish up a Chinook taking off and landing. Come the end of the day I asked him what was his favourite out everything we saw. And it was the scammer explorer. I think he has good taste.

those Chinooks're big birds up close ... get a lot round here ... one or two you'd swear were gonna land on our lawn, if it wasn't for our Lime tree

What you need to do is build a nice big solar array on legs (ie a roof!) and then fill the otherwise-redundant sides in with walls and a door…

Probably get planning permission for a ‘Green project’ way more easily than a shed also.

i'd also need to re-orientate by 90 degs to get it south facing, which'd be damned inconvenient .... and increase the pitch somewhat

be an interestin' proposition on a pitched roof though Dan ... if I were to turn the building 90 deg.s the roof'd face due south but'd need the pitch pushing up to at least 30-35 degs, which'd make it one tall building - I want 16ft at the eaves ideally (and sneakily tacking another 15 ft bay onto the end, after it was up,'d be a no go ), Not a fan of 'lean to-s', on the up hill side and ideally want a tall roller shutter in the end

Actually you'll find that many later PV panels are more tolerant to a less than perfect incidence angle. And you can get good returns from two arrays. One facing East for the morning and another facing West for the afternoon. You may want to do some PV research on YouTube rather than look at CranePorn all day

interesting...
issue with E/W is the tree cover to the east and similar but not so bad to the west which is my preferred shed orientation
boxes are currently NNE/SSW and get like ovens, but as SWMBO has decided their location would be the best location for a shed, I need to move them up me patch and to the other side ....
two options - empty and move with 'Drema or get Russ an' his 35t Liebherr in for the day, but'd have a huge amount of relocating tish to make space for that option
