anyone see Countryfile tonight .... we were drilling oil in a forest in Nottinghamshire during the WW2 and pulling significant quantities out ... continued until the late '50,s apparently :oops: still some nodding donkeys sat in the forest

It's possible to purchase your own hydrogen generator in a container. I'm sure if everyone bought there own unit the government would come up with a special tax for the energy you produce from thin air 😣

Saw a diesel pump in Gloucester at 159.9 on Sunday…….still equivalent to 133.25 plus VAT. On the waydown for the massses but still being turned over!!

Maybe the best we can hope for is that eventually the UK became self sufficient in energy and there was some competition between different types of energy? Or am I dreaming 🤣seems we are already behind the curve regarding Hydrogen production. ☹️

There is plenty of domestic oil kicking round in the UK, the same as any other fuel or mineral.

Just knowing where to look.

There's an oil well just down the road from me at Singleton. It's all economies of scale- high startup costs mean that smaller operations are only cost effective at higher oil prices, much like fracking or tar sands in Alberta.

Strategically speaking, we as a country would be best off sitting on our compartively small reserves anyhow. Same goes for coal.
