Was still 1.88 at Sainsburys on archer Rd Sheffield which is normally cheapest not sure if they’ve not had a new delivery but even in local village one out in peaks it’s down to 1.72

It does seem that the supermarkets have dropped loss leading on fuel. They are fighting the food price inflation war and see fuel loss leading as a battle they can drop.

Received this email earlier,

We just wanted to advise you of the price rise we’re anticipating that will take effect on Sunday 21st August 23.59 (Esso – Friday 19th August 23.59).

When your next weekly price becomes applicable the cost of fuel is likely to increase by around 5p per litre – of course we can’t predict with any certainty what will happen over the next few days but unfortunately prices on current markets remain high.

If it makes sense for your business to take advantage of current prices, then please do so before the dates and times we’ve mentioned above.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance.

Kind regards
