Fuel Prices

Yes but it says look at the BBC for the reasons why. Haha
Probably the only thing the BBC can’t miss report is the market prices. If you look at the graph over the different timescales it does show what the trend is. The fact the market itself can move on rumours over OPEC isn’t the fault of the BBC in this instance!!😂😂😂😂

So do we bulk buy now or wait a few weeks?
Depends if you are low!! Does the fact it might go back up 10p a litre upset you? It looks like it will move around a bit, but the winter is coming and having fuel stocked might not be a bad idea. There doesn’t seem to be an immediate end in sight of the Ukraine situation and even if there is, no guarantee that oil embargo will be quickly resolved!! Just my thoughts. No opinion from the BBC!! 😂😂😂

The bulk price was actually a 5ppl lower than pump price a few weeks back but it's about 2 ppl above now. If we fill our tank it'll last us circa 6months but if the price drops off in a few weeks it'll have been the wrong time to fill. However it looks like the fuel cost is going up so will be the right time to buy.

How much fuel do you purchase to last 6 months?

5KL or there abouts
I use about 500l a month depending on where I am working as that is also for the van. I am happy just getting 500l at a time as then I am never far away from what the current price is. Our local filling station is not the cheapest and it is rare for me to be passing a supermarket going to work. I have a 1200litre tank on the farm so 500 suits me well.

Yep I understand that, but if you run a lorry that could go in one fill. Also if you start to get low on fuel and the next delivery won't land for a week or 10days you could find yourself short 😑

So you could go for 3000l at a time and that still shortens your risk profile if you think prices will drop. Whichever way they go you can still top up.
