I found out today it has a idiot proof button which halfs the slew speed. To be honest I reckon a few more days on it and I won't have to think quite so much- it's the steering when pointing the wrong way which catches me out at the minute
couple of weeks and you'll be chucking her about nonchalantly ---- then she'll bite yer arse - just to remind you, you'm on rubber :giggle::giggle:

few more weeks and you'll have her up on two wheels over the side and think nothing of it, doing the balancing act to get just that little bit more reach :giggle::giggle:

And a few more weeks after that I'll probably have her over on her side😂
nah ... you'll have the drop on complete self preservation mode by then :ROFLMAO:

An other time you need to watch out, is straight ahead, but full offset, you`ve got no counter weight then.
not an issue I have :) ... but can imagine it to be exciting

I got the hang of the steering. But my place is on the side of the hill and as a yard machine I never got the hang of the machine. Was happy to steer it onto the low loader and wave it good bye!!

Quite like the duck idea 👍 but completely useless for our existing work, If I had some money,a twin brother to actually drive it(god forbid) then I'd buy a nice used ew65 in the hope it was as good as the et65 (put a tilty on it), equip it with a trailer and share attachments with et65 and offer maintainance to local communes ... ditches/ bit of shear work etc
Reckon it would work v nicely as have decent contacts but can only drive one at once 🤷‍♂️

I think thats the way to look at them. A useful addition rather than perhaps a standalone contracting machine. Unless your lucky enough to have a whack of the right kind of work for it- a chap nearby has a 9 ton Tak duck but he has a forestry commission contract so does a huge amount of forest track repairs reinstatements across Devon- perfect machine for that where you can be travelling a mile or two alone just between repair sections in a forest.

I'll admit that my duck purchase was rather carried along on a wave of excitement and uncharacteristic spontaneity rather than actually needing anything along those lines. In fact the money was destined for other more essential purchases but this is what happens when one goes onto Facebook marketplace.😳

Could well turn out to be the best thing I've ever bought- I need power of an 8 tonner for boulder handling ripping out stumps etc and I also work in awkward farmsteads where transportation of a tracked 8 tonner is a hassle unless you have own transport- plus there's very few around here with lorry so becomes expensive getting someone from off the moors. For all the above the duck makes sense, I think my issue could be more the fact that I can't justify a much newer machine (yet) and a 22 year old duck with 11000 hrs could well be a money pit. We'll see.

I like the TB175w & wish that I had the work to justify one. There were a couple near me with owner drivers a few years ago one of them was on flotations and I think he swapped them over to his 295 when he upgraded.
my 'Drema spent virtually its entire life on floaties ... duals were put back on when/before it was sold.... didn't find out there was a set that'd come off it, 'til after it was home here -- tried hard to buy them, but the guy was hard work to deal with and it never happened
would've been very handy for me, to be able to venture onto 'softer stuff' than duals allow, but no way could I justify buying a set elsewhere .. ground needs to be pretty hard for duals

How much does you Drema weigh? I'm guessing 15 ton... Alot of weight on tyres the same size (im guessing) they put on the smaller 8 ton ducks. The floaties on mine are 600/40 22.5. will be interesting to see how it fares in the soft stuff.

£600 a corner for middle of the road brand
