Finding a water mains

OK maybe a stupid question to some of you guys, (but was always told its not a stupid question if you don't know the answer) but is there a scanner to find water pipes etc! I know there is a 4 inch water main on the outskirts of our site but I'm not sure where!
Thought I'd ask here for options etc!

Aiden having worked for NIW honestly I’d say ring them.. I don’t work for them anymore but I could maybe get you a number to ring the repair and maintenance manger for your area he’s based out of magherfelt

CAT and Genny will find a plastic one as well. Got my CAT3+ cheap off of ebay and it's been a godsend around the farm.
About two years ago a water board van pulled up outside the office and started dowsing in the road and marking out. I honestly thought I was part of some big TV set up show but a couple of days later the road was dug up where they had marked. Wish I'd gone over and spoke to them now but I really did think it was a wind up at the time.

Cat and genny finding something non conductive? Only if its got tracable marker tape above it.

As long as the genny is attached using the signal clamp the water will conduct the signal.

You can find a lot with cat and genny if somebody walks about 10m away from you walk at steady slow pace any services will get picked up by cat you can then trace along line to mark up

The second man is walking along with the genny opposite you then any services are picked up works really well once you find them you leave genny on ground and trace as far as you want
