if you put down 10% deposit on a 5 year finance you would be struggling to make the payments at those rates

At those rates, why would you own anything. Maintenance, storage, insurance, depreciation, they all add up to nearly that, let alone initial investment. Got to be a small print somewhere - maybe 6 months min hire?

minimum 4 weeks hire it says on the add

Thing is the big hire companies buy gear in such quantities they pay peanuts for it. Borrow off the banks sell on at 3 or 4 year old for nearly what they paid for it it hasn't cost them much to own. Hence the low hire rate. Its easy to see which ones work this way as they usually sell the old stock themselves. There was/is a haulier up my way i believe was doing this with trucks and had to change make because they flooded the second hand market for one particular brand.

It says at the bottom one month minimum bet there's a few other clauses
Some firms will just make the money back through over the top damage charges
