Esco teeth

Need new teeth on my digging bucket for the cx80, currently has CAT style. Want to change to ESCO, when he ran bigger machines da always used ESCO with the horseshoe clip, which I am assuming is this style? Anyone know of any UK stockists of tips and adapters?

What size would you recommend for a 3ft on an 8 tonner? Are they the ones with the horseshoe retainer?

We use the V17 on the 6 ton buckets, You would probably be best with V19's No they don't have the horse shoe retainer just a singe pin...... I think the horse shoe is an old design

They look a good tooth. Quote me for 5 teeth and adapters and doing the work sure

What’s the problem with the Cat ones?

Find they go loose very quickly and get to a point they are hard to keep in place without having to weld the pin. Which isn’t ideal whenever you need to then replace the teeth

Agree, hard to beat for popularity as in you will get them most places.... but come lose to easily

last lot of pins and retainers i had are shxt ,fitted one less than a week ago and its coming out already

When you say Cat type, do you mean J or K type? Apart from that, what are you talking about here?

picked up a big stone today and lost 3 teeth in a pond ,will be having a word with supplier tommorow about the quality of their last batch of retainers

Yea I know they won’t fit cat tips, pretty obvious. Just a matter of cutting and welding, nice job for a wet day rather do this than constantly lose teeth

Cat do two types. K type, which looks very similar to the Esco’s in the picture, and J type, which have a pin and nylon retainer, which I’m guessing possibly incorrectly Thomas is having the issue with. I have lost several of this type.

Frankly, for this job, I’d cut the edge out, weld in a new one and weld the Esco adaptors to the new edge. Be a damn sight quicker than bottling the old ones off, more money in material, but a better job.

Yes it’s the J type fitted. Good idea re the new edge
