Dunno about everyone else but it's like a dust bowl where I'm working at the moment. Seems a bit OTT to be wearing a full respiratory mask. And unpleasant in this heat. Reading about Silicosis though gets me thinking about how much i suspect we are probably all exposed to in this regard.
Obviously wear a mask when any cutting etc but even bucketfuls of soil and the ensuing clouds of dust isn't great

If you get a powered respirator they are actually quite nice in the heat as they blow air over your face cooling you and de fogging the visor.
For dirty jobs I've got one of these

Depends on how much you want to throw at the problem but you can get 12v roof mount AC units. Might be a bit vulnerable for some uses but would be nice
