Thanks, I've seen a few up at that sort of price but wasn't sure if they were changing hands at that money.

Not sure I want to throw that much at a second hand one, might be sacrilege to say in this thread but I'm tempted to get a new Lumag for similar money 🫣
Bought a used 1 last year 1800 plus vat went tits up ended up buying a new 1 cpl months ago

Ross aka sandhill plant wouldn’t sell us a few of them when forum lot got offered a deal he said hand arm vibration was too much and didn’t want to sell them to us in here because of that on the lumag ones

Quite agree we hired a brand new Amman 1 before we bought the used 1. The wacker was head and shoulders above the Amman 1

It’s what I do!
Thought we needed a specific thread for everyone to post about the forum favourite the mighty wacker DPU 2540! (Seeing as if you don’t have one your not worth knowing around these parts!!🤣) mine hasn’t arrived yet so I can’t send wacker nudes until later in the week..
I suppose it’s good that it’s specific to DPUs there are a few others out there doing the same job.

I already have a small petrol Lumag and rate it, third of the price of a 'proper' one but does what I need it to do just fine 🤷

To be honest the lumag plates are fine for their cost. I just worked out that some people just expect more. I cant recall who but we paid to return a plate i sent out on a try and buy was in the highlands, he couldnt get on with it. It cost me £400 lol as it was highlands pallets.

Just wasnt worth the fuss trying to help out. Incidently we sold a hell of a lot of plates and get zero feedback in the grand scheme of things, just got to be aware there cheap and cheerfull but will do the job.

If you want low HAV etc just buy a expensive plate. If you want somthing that hasnt been battered around and to get the job done then a lumag would be more than enough. The VP60's etc (entry models) are fantastic value

Yeah I have a VP60 and can't really fault it for 300 quid.

Have you sold many of the bigger 160ish kg plates? What are they like?

HAVS probably not a major issue unless they are truly awful

Still don't know had all the easy bits checked next was strip the engine new engine worse case scenario was over 2k!
Sounds like a nightmare and what I am trying to avoid - I don't mind fixing bits and pieces but it's the time lost on site and diagnosing the issue in the first place.

With these Wackers I wouldn't even know what to look for - I guess just lacking power, poor starting, smoke etc.?

Check the plate. They are mega money to replace

the problem with plates is the same as used quads.

They are generally bought and absolutly abused then moved on. Zero servicing, Zero workshop time and just work work work although parked up inbetween. Driven with no mechanical sympathy .

Its why we dont buy used plates, or used quads.

I've got a lumag of similar size and it's not really a patch on the wacker. It's much harder to start and noisier and the odd bit rattles off. Lumag parts are on a long lead time a labourer ran it over with a dumper it took about 6 weeks to gat a new frame delivered. I didn't pay much for it it was 700 still in its shipping crate from euros.

It lays down stone well and leaves a good finish once it's hard
