Diesel and drill pumps- better alternative?

In Devon many things are harder to get to. Its a big county with odd roads. Fine if you go east - west but not otherwise. I have spent today at a training college that is in the opposite corner of Devon to me. 3 hour round trip!. Some parts of the county are 2+hours away from me in a van.

Mad isn't it. Looks like nothing on the map yet yet takes an age. Half of that is backing up for people in the lanes of course

Bosch type injection fuel lift pump off a car .. been using one a long time and have suggested these a few times ... shift fluid pretty quick ... I just have a flying lead on mine with croc clips for a remote 12v battery either on the machine or just loose

As ever. Homebrew concoctions are often best. I like the idea of running it of a drill battery

will give the battery a caning though pull a fair current ... but it's an easy, cheap option if you have a pump lying about ... not cheap if you have to buy a new one, but just about any fuel injected motor will have one (sadly often in the tank these days though) - most older Fords, etc., will have one under the car by the tank though

The pump was 35 quid on Amazon doesn't seem to wear the battery down much I only use it for filling smaller machines takes a couple of mins to do 20 litres
