Deutz engine check-over

I thought I was on holiday, but the the gods had other plans.
Today, a Deutz 3.50 fell on it's side and it took a few hours before it was back on it's feet.
Apparently it stalled as it fell, so wasn't running without oil.
As always with an engine that's been on it's side (or worse), I want to check the cylinders for oil before turning it over (under power).
Haven't looked, but expecting to find a Deutz F3L 913 under the bonnet.

It's not an engine I've worked on, so any words of wisdom appreciated.
I was told it has glow plugs, but the manual doesn't show any.
I was hoping for glow plugs as removing the injectors looks like a PIA and requires a crows-foot and torque wrench to put the fuel lines back together.

At this stage, my plan is to remove the starter (a 3-week old Mahle) and turn it over from the ring gear

I had a Deutz 6.10 & I thought it got its cold start heat from the intake manifold. V8Druid would be the one to ask.
