I tend to use a bloke from peterbrough

We get maps and scan with the CAT + Genny. On general hires the customer is liable for the services.

Pray to the service gods, ask the customer where their meters are, have a mooch around for obvious signs of where services could run, Cat scan, mark up on ground where services are. Start gently taking turf off.... and hit the bloody NTL line with the first bucket.

I got the leccy people out to tell me where my supply ran and they were very good .... BT on the other hand were ****ing useless ... hit their cable 4" below the surface 40 ft from where they told me it was running, 90 degrees to where they said it was routed, on the opposite side of my drive to where they categorically said it was ....... didn't take 'em long to come and sort it though after I'd pointed out they'd been out two days earlier, to tell me it wasn't where i'd found it

I always carry heatshrink crimps, coax joiners and heatshrink for those jobs!!
