I will take you out for a steak, deal with Pam's moaning husband problem and return you to wales if you like.... But in exchange I want dib's on the 1800.

If you try Dexter you will appreciate quality not quantity. Although my wife does ask why I need to eat 2 steaks at each sitting!!

my dad used to rear dexter when I was a nipper, it's something I'd like to do again but fear I dont have the time to commit. Do they take much time to look after ? Fattening up only no breeding!

I buy them at 1 year old and generally keep them for a year. Walk up the hill every day to make sure they are still there and throw a bale of hay in when the grass has gone. As long as your fences are secure they are not much hassle apart from the annual TB test we have to do down here. Been doing it for around 6 years and the quality of the beef keeps me at it. How much land do you have?

6 acres to grass, enough for 4 of them at a time ?

Would give me an excuse to kick the horses off

Good bye to the horses!! You will ideally need to rotate into smaller paddocks and keep one for hay unless you are happy to buy in!
