Sorry don't agree we've lost 70k to covid
70k people have died who have returned a positive result of flawed, overcycled PCR test within 28 days of said death. Ie terminal cancer patients, the "ran over by bus after positive test" etc etc
Hear hear...I doubt we'll ever know.

As the vast majority of those had underlying medical conditions I doubt covid is the primary cause.
The problem with health/medicine is that it's complicated.
Almost no one "dies from cancer" (at least not to the medical profession). People with lung cancer die from pneumonia etc.
To those of us outside the medical profession, it's the same thing - had cancer, died = died from cancer. Similarly if you work backwards - if there was no cancer, there would have been no pneumonia = died from cancer.
My point is that you need to be careful interpreting the numbers quoted. The numbers mean different things depending who's quoting them.

Sure there's been excess deaths, but there's also going to be more due to undiagnosed/ treated conditions, that are going to occur next few years
Thinking back it's been a crazy year,I've been mostly unaffected, certainly health, work, money wise,it's hit some people really bad, others like me only in terms of reduced freedom,Ferguson was desperate for lockdown with '09 sars but never got any traction in government,my problem with way this has been handled is the way that no alternative is allowed, and people haven't been allowed to use their own common sense to just get on with it,all this 'save the nhs' and other propaganda has turned me from someone who agreed with first lockdown to being highly skeptical

i wonder if blood tests have been carried out on all supposed covid deaths? You know just to confirm they actually died with it in them for a start? I’d be really interested to know these stats!!

I believe from speaking to people who have had elderly relatives in hospital during covid that depending on how many covid patients were being treated at the hospital if their relatives were to die in hospital it would have gone down as covid 19 whether they had it or not. I know one person who questioned whether they were testing their parent and they were told no but we have so many cases here now it won't matter they would be put down as covid 19 regardless.

If you read it all, you did better than me.
I reckon it took two bottles of red to write it and I'd need two to read it.
Yeh I just managed to get through it. I've said before any woman of child bearing age that has this jab is insane. I will be quite interested to see whether friends and relatives partners who are enthusiastic about restrictions have it. Don't get me wrong I'm not anti vax, but it's not been properly tested and covid 19 is hardly dangerous to this age group.

Also does anyone know what this vaccine is effective at?
Reducing symptoms?
Reducing transmission?

Heard the same from 2 different friends...covid went on everything...one 100 year old went on the covid ward for no reason at all. Family kicked off etc and she was moved and survived fine👏

Ferguson....looks up to China wtf
Professor Neil Ferguson has given an extraordinary interview to Tom Whipple at The Times, in which he confirms the degree to which he believes that imitating China’s lockdown policies at the start of 2020 changed the parameters of what Western societies consider acceptable.

“I think people’s sense of what is possible in terms of control changed quite dramatically between January and March,” Professor Ferguson says. When SAGE observed the “innovative intervention” out of China, of locking entire communities down and not permitting them to leave their homes, they initially presumed it would not be an available option in a liberal Western democracy:

It’s a communist one party state, we said. We couldn’t get away with it in Europe, we thought… and then Italy did it. And we realised we could.

- PROFESSOR NEIL FERGUSON, THE TIMES
He almost seems at pains to emphasise the Chinese derivation of the lockdown concept, returning to it later in the interview:

“These days, lockdown feels inevitable. It was, he reminds me, anything but. “If China had not done it,” he says, “the year would have been very different.””

To those people who, still now, object to lockdowns on civil liberties principles, this will be a chilling reminder of the centrality of the authoritarian Chinese model
