Perhaps we should all be on milk, bread and butter. Unless of course you prefer margarine!!

About time we realised we need to get on with life. Those that need to shelter can shelter and everyone needs to think for themselves.

School meals during holidays....really....have we really dropped that far that we need the state to provide school meals 52 weeks of the year.

About time we realised we need to get on with life. Those that need to shelter can shelter and everyone needs to think for themselves.

Nah I'll not throw a brick at ya. Regional lockdowns, 3 tier systems, circuit breaker, full lockdown etc etc unless a vaccine was a couple of weeks away which it isn't and even if it was it would probably take 6 months at least to administer to a reasonable level of population, were just dragging it out. The way its going we'll still be at the same stage in 12 months time. Ok there's vulnerable people out there who still have many years of quality life ahead of them who need to be kept away from it and doubtless a few who don't know their vulnerable to it, but the vast majority of people will shake it off possibly not even realise they've had it we need to get back to normal. It wouldn't be difficult to keep some portion of social distancing in place and to respect each others space a bit more. The most vulnerable are the very old and those with underlying health issues many of these will go hand in hand as a result of old age. I had 3 grandparents who were fortunate enough to live to a v good age (v late eighties and early nineties) but being realistic they all lived too long as they ended up needing to be in care homes. Now i know i there are differing levels of care homes and some people live a few good quality years in them but for most it's the end of the line and it's dragged out for too long. For many of the elderly who've been put down as covid deaths it's probably been a blessing and in a normal year (or not skewed figures) they'd probably have died from flu or some other virus. In many cases modern medicine has people living too long and unfortunately something has come along which it currently can't overcome. We need to get back to it as much as we can before there's nowt left to get going.

Agreed...and how long for? 2 weeks my foot.
My dad's had cancer twice...very high risk. Back at work for months now .he says use yer brain don't do anything silly crack on.

I'm wondering what state Welsh businesses are going to be in by year end...that idiot in charge seems obsessed in building a border.

I think one of the worst things is i bet most of the population want to get back to a "more normal" and take their chance and don't agree with lockdowns etc. But then when the government comes with a handout everyone thinks oh its fine I'll sit at home for a bit if their gonna pay me to. Long term those handouts are gonna be the reason a lot people won't have a job, and then there won't be handouts it'll be a pittance. A lot won't realise until its too late, infact it possibly already is but the longer we pi** about the worse it will be.

I've been working just outside Glasgow and it was really bad at the hotel. They are only allowed to open the restuarant to residents and are not allowed to serve alcahol with the meals (what difference would it make to my chances of catching Corona if I had a glass of beer or a glass of water?). Sunday night there were only two of us in and two staff. Normally this place is heaving every night serving hundreds of meals and gallons of beer.
The weird thing is everyone you speak to slags Sturgeon off, but when it comes to elections she wins hands down.

Swedish authorities have removed the special advice nationwide given to older people, so now all age groups have the same advice.


“It is not reasonable that risk groups should have to bear such a heavy burden for society in the long run, especially when we can see that the mental and physical consequences are significant for those who have been isolated,” said Johan Carlson, head of the public health agency.


“We can see that many lack social contact, they feel frustrated that they are treated differently in a stigmatising way. Anxiety has increased among those who suffer from poor mental health.”


However, Mr Carlson emphasised that there is still a much greater risk of suffering from serious illness if you are older. “Therefore you must make your own assessment of what risk you are prepared to expose yourself to,” he says.

I wish more people in power here thought along those lines and let us make up our own minds more.

WHO yesterday said lockdowns dont work and all they do is make the poorest more poor and make the richest more rich.
