Have to agree to disagree here on the current lot. Don't get me wrong i'm no labour supporter either.
They are utter chancers in office now. Making it up as they go along. Multiple U turns, hypocrisy and bad decisions.

I'm not saying they are perfect by a long shot just that they have achieved a lot that is being overlooked for example the nightingale hospitals where built very quickly and the furlough scheme was a massive thing to implement in a short time
And I think the u turns that the media are focusing very hard on are for two reasons a) they are being week and trying to keep everyone happy and b) they are trying to carry on with the herd immunity plan but without telling everyone as it caused outrage
They are in a very difficult position and I doubt any government would have done a great job and I don't think the media and the way the public behaves now days is helping matters

For what my opinion is worth.....
The testing is a pile of poo.....the number of ‘positive’ cases is not being reflected in hospital admissions. Serious flaw in the data when you are not comparing the testing (or lack of) that was happening when deaths peaked!! Locking up 1500 students in Manchester is just nuts. Going to be civil unrest before long!!

But in fairness the best explanation is they are working on a unforeseeable problem that was unrealistic in 2019.... Ozzy ate a Bat and was fine who would of thought the Chinks would do different....

Tracking app wise, it can f**k off.... yes GPS/Smartphones etc are all data sponges but the simple fact is regardless what you believe you can turn it on and off... Sign up to track yourself and your location.... a week later you've a phone call from the local stazi officer and are under house arrest..... that's the way it is and there will be no option but to go along with it! It's like africa with Ebola Victims being locked in there homes to die but instead you wait 14 days.... currently. What happens when it's found it can hang around longer... there is already talk of "severe corvid" that lasts longer in some people

Don't think because data is switched off you're phone doesn't know where it's at. You'd be surprised whats going on in the background unnoticed on a mobile, even when switched off.

What do all you lot are as a realistic exit plan to all this nonsense. Lower league football clubs saying they're going to go bust. Festivals booking in acts for next year saying if they don't go ahead they'll go bust.
A vaccine won't be ready by next spring, I'd bet money. Definatley won't be distributed and in use any way.

The only logical solution I can see is for government to come out and say we panicked and have been over reacting. We took the right course in beginning when was an unknown yet should of changed tack when it became obvious how mild it was.

What do you lot all think. How will we get back to normal here

We need either a total Lockdown as we had earlier in the year until virus is negligible and then no entering the country unless a specified reason until it's globally under control, Or Life returns to normal, People die but acceptable as it's not actually any worse than the flu is it.

Neither will happen as people are incapable of compromise and are fully entitled.

The Vaccine isn't coming, lets be f****ng honest it's a magic fairy-tale bollocks, Trick And Trace is also bollocks.... sorry I don't see the point at all. All it's going to achieve is a load of aggravation.

IMHO we are holding onto the fabric of civilisation right now and I can't see it continuing. Some strange times ahead.... fire up the wickerman.

agree with a lot of that Rory ....... IMHDO, if it wasn't for the overwhelming of the NHS by the shear volume of numbers, I think they'd have just let it run its course in the first place
can build as many 'Nightingales' as they like, to cope with volumes ... but staffing them is the problem ... only a finite number of suitably qualified people, prepared to risk their own lives
there is no one clear cut answer ..... depends entirely on 'where you stand' , to view the problems from ...... everyone has differing views, priorities and needs

It's hitting the western isles now only 6 cases from the beginning till last week now 17 confirmed cases since Friday, they have closed schools etc now to try and contain it but island full of people travelling about have a job booking ferry's now with the amount of tourists here now, houses sales up here have gone mad with people buying houses to try and get away from people

The problem is the test is not actually that reliable. I guess there are far too many false test results. The PCR test is being run up to 40 times on the same sample which will basically mean anyone with a common cold will throw a positive “corona virus” test.

Bloke here the other day went for a test...booked in etc..gave up waiting as huge queue and he had another appointment....so left without having a test.
Gets a call following day..your positive you must isolate...wtf a few choice words were had and they said there must have been a mistake...makes you wonder..

Western Australia (a state about 100 times the size of the UK and a population about the same as St Davids) took this approach (plenty that would like to make it permanent!).
The result is they have had no community transmission for 170 days.
At least in the short term, isolation works.
