I have to say generally around me in the Peak District it’s changed dramatically from what it was a couple of weeks ago. Went a walk with my dog tonight and literally didn’t hear any vehicles. Numbers walking past the house might have gone up slightly, but not big groups mainly just couples.

Main thing is, the majority of the public are selfish. You only have to look at the London boroughs where they were all down the parks sunning it up, like it's a holiday.
Took the eldest two on a little bike ride, roads are still fairly busy retail park was surprisingly busy for just homebase, Wilko and Halfords.

Mate in Liverpool was saying neighbours across the road are constantly having people over and just general partying.

Until the public start to treat this a bit more serious we could be looking at a full on hard lockdown

Ok, so I can see both sides.

Lots of people moaning about people driving for exercise, I get that they probably shouldn't, but as long as they drive safely and keep their distance the risks are low.

I get why the kids are flouting the rules. Because we were all young once and immortal. It's the brushes with death we have that give us caution.

I'm also realistic, we have another month of this at least, maybe two. Beyond that we start doing serious damage to the economy. I feel for everyone in the events industry who have had their summer seasons wiped out, but left paying for gear they need - I have a lot of friends there - and I'm sure the construction industry is the same.

The lass who sits next to me at work, one of my best friends, came down with the plague at the beginning of last week, caught from a family member she believes the week before. She was hospitalised at the weekend (she's asthmatic) and is now very poorly and feeling really quite scared. And there's nowt I can do save send her supportive messages and hope she is young enough to pull through this.

My partner had lost an elderly uncle too, which is a real shame. One of my friends has just lost his mum, though not to Covid-19, but I feel for him because I want to comfort him and pay my respects to his mum who I saw a lot when down at his doing work.

Life for me, other than the embuggerances laid upon us continues as normal. I work at the computer daily so am just VPN'd into work and have rejigged & cleared up my office. I've even started a new role last week within the company and had a morning in the office to meet a new hire. Bit weird being the only one in, but at least I could choose the music!

Shopping has become a pain, I'm sure I'm spending more but am keeping a keen eye on waste, keeping from fast food and takeaway as much as possible will help. I've got a fortnights worth of food in the freezer and upto a week's fresh in the fridge at any one time should the worst happen. My cupboard is well stocked with cans, pasta and rice. Dog food has just been re-ordered with a few weeks remaining, though they think it may be a fortnight for delivery, but I should have enough plus a buffer for that. Shall have to BBQ the cat as it's good was out of stock but it's got a similar buffer. I shall have to check when next in Sainsbury's. Most ships are implementing queuing systems finally and wanting just one person to go in, so that's me or we'd be on a gin based diet.

but you're doing it properly Alex ....... it's the myriad of tossers that aren't, that is going to extend the s**t for everyone ... the dull f**ks that are treating it as a holiday/party time/whatever you want to call it .. the dull f**ks that breed like rabbits and don't have two brain cells to their name ..... plus the stupid bar stewards who just don't care .. the not going to happen to them brigade

I think the main reason, is the total is the total lack of respect for the law, which unfortunately has been/is just been diluted as the next generation comes through., I get the brushes with death that gave us caution, had my fare share of them the same as everyone one else, but if something like this had happened when I was a young lad, think the local policeman would of given me a good clip round the ear and taken me home followed by another one from my parents.
As for the partying, think there was one of the high profile ones who through a party the other weekend??? WTF

As harsh as it sounds it needed to be done sooner for the country and a proper lockdown rather than letting these idiots f**k off to their holiday homes, or sit in the park like a summer holiday, many people people are just selfish scum along with all the bellends wishing bad fortune to boris

It's abit half arsed where majority of workers have to stop unless they can work from home then let construction continue and many self employed will twist stuff to suit their own agenda and continue with minor works building wooden summer houses, painting/decorating, paving and other odd jobs.

It spreads by people moving the virus rather than airborne, so the longer this lockdown lasts the worse the hit on the economy.

On the flip side you need to let people get it and go through it, while not over loading the hospital's the worse thing would be for everything to stop then when everyone comes out, it's back to square one and a repeated cycle

problem with this approach, lets say we all stop indoors until end of may. Untold businesses goto the wall, VAT has to go up to 30% to repay the massive gov bailout thus far. The pandemic is 'over' we all go back to work.

A week later the virus is back as noone is immune and we are back in exactly the same position except this time theirs no cash left for more bailouts and there are 10 million on the dole. Another lockdown wouldnt be tolerated or possible.

A very dangerous line is being tread.

Donkeys led by Clowns. The remaining 30% have my full sympathy no wonder they retire early, hard to imagine what a copper of the 80'thinks s seeing whats been done to the police. They have lost respect of the the current 'young' generation and are seen as joke, just have to look on social media at the interactions. No respect at all.

Issue with Plod Atm is the inconsistencies which have always been there. The difference is the "Bad" copper of the 80's would either be violent but no doubt be in a position to get results..... these days the ***** aren't violent but are malicious and unscrupulous little wankers.....

They are currently enforcing something no one really understands.... first two days of the "lockdown" here they took it upon themselves to make up there own rules the little wankers where loving it. but fortunately soon got beaten down by the general public.

Plenty of good Plod here however..... just a few odd pricks that want more than a slap I'm fortunate to know most of the good ones.

The police have started to clamp down up here on non essential travel people have to show receipts for what they have bought etc, stopped people the other day who had bought vodka and a pack of biscuits classed that as non essential travel and fined them, for they know the booze could be an essential for some people, five cases up here now no deaths so far loads probably have it but can't see a doctor and told not to go to hospital unless seriously ill

Problem here is there is no deterrent, police have their hands tied.

They don't get much respect from pop culture and it starts in the playgrounds with don't trust the police etc.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if you actually saw them out and about in the beat, but on the other hand they don't really help themselves, by not investigating tool thefts it's an epidemic the thieves have little fear of being caught and even if they are, the punishment does not come close to fitting the crime. They can literally wipe out thousands of tools and do a few k worth of damage and the police will just give a crime number.
Then on top of that the only time you see a cop is when they are sat with a speed gun or pulling motorists over as it's an easy way to get convictions and increase revenue from fines.
Then on top of that you have the rampant knife crime

I get that there is a lot of serious crimes that you don't see them solving behind the scenes and they do a good job but they need more power
