That are still rowing there boat back after demonstrating in Bristol last month. Normally they navigate by the trails left by the aeroplanes so they are currently lost!!

We don't see a lot of planes apart from high stuff but ain't it weird? Even road traffic earily quiet round here now.

had two at high altitude, through the day today ...... the skies are blissfully quiet and no road noise at all ..... not as we hear a lot normally... but is virtually zero ATM .....

Applaud the NHS at 8. I did go out and applaud but never heard any of my neighbours out

We live in a small hamlet of 22 houses and at least half were out and sounding their car/truck horns and cheering in support of our wonderful NHS workers
Managed to trump them all using my long silver twin Hadley truck air horns and compressor

Yes we have noticed that, yesterday afternoon, sat in the back garden drinking tea with my 84yr old neighbour. He had walked over 'taking his daily exercise' and we maintained our 'social distance'. This fella is so lonely that he is depressed. So, speaking/or see him every day
Anyway, he looked up at the plane at about 29,000ft heading East and said where's that going then?
Quick as flash I whipped out me smart phone and looked on "Flightradar24" - Moscow probably taking people home.....
.....we saw just two others inbound to Stansted from Berlin and Amsterdam while finishing our tea
Challenging times and little things like this makes you realise. Great App though

I appreciate what they are doing, but they are only doing what they volunteered and are being paid for. The people on the checkout in the supermarket, etc with little or no PPE didn't join for this and seem to deserve our appreciation much more.

TBH Gra, it doesn't get much more front line than face to face in a ward and do they really get paid enough for what they do anyway ??
None of them could ever have imagined the situation they now find themselves in, unless they were specialists in high risk care.

Not that i am decrying everyone else contributing to the effort of keeping the country afloat ... scary times and everyone deserves recognition for their contributions ....
there will possibly be a 'new' mindset emerge from this all IMHDO ... including serious negativity to those who didn't/don't 'get with the program' and tow the line/behave responsibly and put others at risk through their irresponsibility

Apparently all builders merchants have been instructed to shut down tonight as of 5pm

a few around me have remained open til now so I imagine anyone without a letter like giving permission to be working will be instructed to stay home after the weekend

I do think its wise that everybody closes... its becoming very well spread and its a matter of time before the nhs is completely overrun we have finished the jobs in the yard and will close today ourselves. Its only right.

My local Jewsons is closed for collections, only delivering to "essential" works. Not sure what that exactly is but as I cant get skips, or aggregates and with the growing risk of catching the disease, I am closing my site today. Only got 2 guys in anyway, not many want to work, even if I didn't have the issues listed above.
Could probably scratch about and keep open, we are certainly complying with the official rules on staying open but I also have to think about the social responsibility of this and my own health which having Asthma is higher risk for me if I catch it.
For me its the end of the road for now. God knows how long for but if it stays around much more than 6 months the landscape is going to look hugely different to how it does today. It will be the worst recession ever and we will be paying for it for decades to come.

My son-in-law works for a local haulage company driving a grab lorry.
For the past few weeks he has continued seeing many sites being closed.
Today he is clearing the broken out concrete from Clacton Pier.......
.......then he is being furloughed UFN
They have 5 children in the household and he needs to keep bringing in the money.
He should be OK on 80% but it looks like 'Bank of Dad' will take another pounding

As a just in case measure this lot went back to the farm this morning. Next week we will be using Kubota only with it trailered in and out everyday in case we get locked up! Leave the site every night now as if we won’t be back tomorrow!!

Just had the call from Daughter. Her husband works for marketing company that works for a big company that makes phones and computer sort of things but we are not allowed to name. Furloughed until May at least!

Just applied for my £10,000 Industrial site grant.... not proud of it but we will need it in the coming months.... what was going to be a fantastic year has basically gone to s**t.... 4 decent jobs for the coming months are on hold due to it will spend half that money paying bills that where due to be paid this month and then sit on the rest!
