have seen purpose built ones of those before, but never a trailed one attached to a unit, like that ..... looks funI drive one of these occasionally, got no official licence for it like but haven't hit anything yet so can I join the free for all party.
I think they are stating deaths as a direct result of contracting the Covid19 Gra ... on top of the usual annual figures ... that hospital in Italy in the video, would not have been like a war zone, with just the usual annual flu influx .... and they wouldn't be trucking the bodies out in military drop sides to a 'two minute interment' with no relatives in attendance. If things get as bad as the doomsayers are predicting, 500,000 deaths in England alone, I think anyone who survives will be entitled to do what they like to get back on their feet.
Trouble is I was reading about the predictions this morning (I do like something jolly whilst having breakfast). Normally when they count deaths from something like flu (approx. 8000 per year) this is excess mortality, ie deaths that would not have happened otherwise. The figures they are bandying about now are total mortality, so someone who would have died anyway may have had corona so they are counted. On an average year between 500,000 and 600,000 people die here anyway, so it could be that even in the worst case there may not be many or any more than normal. If they are going to quote figures they should be comparing like for like otherwise they are just scare tactics.
and therein lies the problem ... that they are going to create for all and sundry .... Boris et al are not doing all this for their own good alone .. we are seeing totally unprecedented measures being taken on an almost hourly basis .. many of which are totally against 'the grain' for a government, or ever been seen beforeI can't believe how so many people are just treating it as extra holiday. The sun is out here and I drove along the seafront earlier and it is packed with people of all ages out enjoying the sunshine.
I know I've been saying about over reacting etc, but for all that I'm doing my best to keep a distance from people and only going out when necessary. A lot of people don't seem to be taking any notice.
I don't know about the situation in Italy and why so many are dying, seems odd to be so high compared to even China, but this was the arcticle I was reading this morning :I think they are stating deaths as a direct result of contracting the Covid19 Gra ... on top of the usual annual figures ... that hospital in Italy in the video, would not have been like a war zone, with just the usual annual flu influx .... and they wouldn't be trucking the bodies out in military drop sides to a 'two minute interment' with no relatives in attendance.
don't think Boris, et al , would be putting themselves through all this s**t for no bloody good reason ... or the rest of the world ... we are firmly in the deepest of s**t
all fair comments Gra ...... but do you and your family want to take the chance???? as said, these unprecedented actions by our own and gov.s worldwide aren't for the hell of itI don't know about the situation in Italy and why so many are dying, seems odd to be so high compared to even China, but this was the arcticle I was reading this morning :
Would these people be dying anyway?
The figures for coronavirus are eye-watering. But what is not clear - because the modellers did not map this - is to what extent the deaths would have happened without coronavirus.
Of course, this will never truly be known until the pandemic is over, which is why modelling is very difficult and needs caveats.
But given that the old and frail are the most vulnerable, would these people be dying anyway?
Every year more than 500,000 people die in England and Wales: factor in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and the figure tops 600,000.
The coronavirus deaths will not be on top of this. Many would be within this "normal" number of expected deaths. In short, they would have died anyway.
It was a point conceded by Sir Patrick at a press conference on Thursday when he said there would be "some overlap" between coronavirus deaths and expected deaths - he just did not know how much of an overlap.
The flu comparison
In contrast, the figure he gave for flu deaths to MPs - 8,000 - is different. It is actually the number of deaths over and above what you would expect to happen in any given year.
Many more die with flu, but the figure gives you an indication of how many more die because of flu, whereas the 20,000, 250,000 and 500,000 figures for coronavirus are simply the number of deaths linked to coronavirus.
The testing which has been done in many countries means we know when a patient dies with the virus inside their body. What it does not tell us is to what extent coronavirus contributed to the death.

Coronavirus: How to understand the death toll
The rising number of coronavirus deaths is distressing. But what are the figures actually telling us?www.bbc.co.uk
I'm not saying it is not extremely bad and as I said ealier I'm doing social distancing, only go out as necessary etc, but trying to get a bit of perspective on it. If we were genuinely looking at 500,000 extra deaths in England on top of the 500,000 to 600,000 that are going to happen anyway it is a whole different ball game than some extra deaths and so far, thank goodness it does not appear to be wiping out well people. Unfortunately I'm having to come to terms with the possibility/probability my father won't survive it, but adding to the panic by exaggerating the figures won't help him.all fair comments Gra ...... but do you and your family want to take the chance???? as said, these unprecedented actions by our own and gov.s worldwide aren't for the hell of it
I`ve seeing the same, plenty of people passing here going to the local woods, caravan sites filling up. Was told the A55 was quieter than normal, but with lots of caravan/tourist traffic. In local papers, councillors from north wales coast or north west wales where expressing concern about people traveling there to isolate, worried that the welsh heath service has already got less capacity the its English counterpart, and if the extra people need to use it, taking capacity away from local population.I can't believe how so many people are just treating it as extra holiday. The sun is out here and I drove along the seafront earlier and it is packed with people of all ages out enjoying the sunshine.

The exact words I've seen were '232 people tested positive for the virus have died',someone testing positive and dying isn't the same as some one dying directly due to itI'm not saying it is not extremely bad and as I said ealier I'm doing social distancing, only go out as necessary etc, but trying to get a bit of perspective on it. Same here for Mull too, I hope calmac turns it into a freight and residents only service and stops these selfish peopleClosing things down on mainland is turning to chaos up here now as loads of tourists are coming here to try and get away from it which is not going down well as local people can't get anything let alone get back on ferry to there own homes as ferry gets filled with camper vans they are starting to petition calmac to stop tourist getting here
