Run BF Goodrich AT's. Always have. Best all-round tyres going

I think for a few years now bf AT's have had a snow rating, only when plenty tread on mind. That's the only fault they have tbh daft as it sounds they last too long.

Yeah - mostly.
I once bought a set of tyres for just that purpose - cheap, chinese and nasty. The brand "sunny" should have been a warning.
Even in the dry, they were the worst tyres I've ever driven on (I sold them after three weeks)
the only reason for using them was:

1. they had the snowflake, so I was covered by insurance
2. they stopped the towbar draging on the ground.

Did try Grabber X3s weren't bad tyres tbf but BFG are the best imo, amazingly good all round .liking the new direction of this thread

I have a spare set of wheels for the wifes' Volvo estate and swap to the winter tyres when it starts to get cold. They are remarkably good in snow and heavy rain compared to normal tyres.
I've also swapped my van tyres from the road ones It came with to Mitchelin Cross Climate. I was fed up with getting stuck on wet grass. Again they are excellent for a bit of light off roading.
PS If anyone wants a set of lightly used van tyres off an Iveco Daily please get in touch.

I always think bfg's are a bit poor on wet or greasy roads. Whilst they are great off-road I think the Yokohama geolander AT are better on wet or cold roads not quite as aggressive but better road handling

Mate had some of those chinky mud terrains ...got back after a day out Laning ....with quite a few side lugs missing

I have general grabber (the AT version) on my disco and BFG MTs on the defender. I think the quality of the compound is far better on the BFGs as even the MTs have better tractive ability on tarmac over the generals.

I had Geolander AT’s on a Trooper, but when they wore out fitted Grabbers. There wasn’t much in it off road but the AT’s were better on wet tarmac.

No information yet how it compares to the others, but it'll be fun to watch.

Big fan of the general grabber AT3 here. Got them on the D1 which have competed in trials competition and have embarrassed a few friends. Just acquired a set second which will go on the Range Rover Sport. Only downside is they are 20inch and would have preferred 19’s. Bit at no cost I can’t really complain

As an offroad tyre the bfg's are let down by sidewalls being too stiff to flex enough. Probably helps road manners a lot though (I'd guess most AT tyres suffer the same)

" vaccine-induced immunity " doesn't exist (in this instance) as it's not a vaccine, but a 'serum' to alleviate the symptoms - nothing more
