do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Random question but when the doctors prescribed your special juice did you resist it? Question it, Facebook study whats in it? Etc or just accept it as the what the doctor wanted to give you to get you well again?

iknow some guys who are anti vaxers all these Facebook posts about stuff etc yet this lad will happily sort or smoke any illegal drug he can get his hands on with no question to what’s in it or from where it came. Seems a strange irony.
did a huge amount of research on it @Giles ....
there is not a lot anywhere about Gaucher's as it is so rare and read all i could - also joined the Gaucher's association - they approached me - who have as vast as possible database on the disease ...
my 'hamster juice' isn't a drug, per se, but an enzyme that my body isn't able to produce, beta-glucosidase, as my chromosomes are missing the gene responsible for its production.

As for "FB study" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: doubt they've ever heard of it ..

you have to go to medical journals and data bases to find any real info. on it.
these are a few articles
https://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?q=beta+glucosidase+gaucher&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart
you need to learn a whole new vocabulary too

No i didn't just accept it blindly ... I was very gen.-ed up on it when I went to see the top man in the country on Gaucher's in The Royal Free in Hampstead, London, Professor Atul Mehtta (for a second opinion).
I'd had months to study it, between the initial tentative diagnosis, getting fully tested and progressing on from there, with the consultants in the LSDU in the heath in Cardiff ....
took me 13 mths fight to get the treatment funded. It was the only treatment for it then and without it it's terminal, eventually. (Even had lengthy correspondence with Genzyme, in Cambridge, Mass., USA who make the Cerezyme I am treated with)
There has been a.n.other developed since, which I tried end of '19, early 20, but was taken off it, when I ended up in hospital in Feb. '20 with pancreatitis again ..
personally I'm sure that wasn't the issue, but as a precaution was put back on the established regime that had been working fine for 8 years (with the odd tweak) and am happy to stick with what works.

so no .. I was fully informed about what I was doing

As for your 'smack head' .... it speaks volumes of his (and other's) mentality when they will blindly buy any old sh1t from complete strangers and shove it into their bodies, without a second thought ..... amazes me that there isn't a pandemic of drug induced deaths ... might as well put a gun to their heads with one chamber loaded

I'm not vaxed, nor is my wife as when it came out she was pregnant and they wouldn't vax pregnant lady's. Nether of us are anti vaxers, but my thinking is If it don't stop you getting it or spreading it then why bother! I'm the type to only take a headache tablet when I'm absolutely dying.
That said, I will likely get it soon as if you want to travel or do anything then you wont be able to!

exactly .. remember the sales patter to start - "Protect the NHS" .... don't swamp the ICUs ..... was the "sales line" ....
well they're still getting the jabbed in there and you're right it doesn't do anything other than reduce to overall effects, having caught it.

It's a very sad indictment on the system where you are now feeling compelled to, because of the restrictions levied on people who are probably less likely to spread or catch it, due to their almost certainly more circumspect, cautious behaviour in general

forgot this bit ....
ditto ...
got to be rough, before resorting to anything ...
have all sorts here and have to be really suffering before taking any of it .... a lot is usually out of date and goes back ... much prefer to 'ride it out', if I can ...

My dad's got myloma...having third jab as been told by a guy he respects a lot to get it....he's had upteen hundreds of fancy jabs and treatment costing the NHS well over 100k but doesn't dig and delve into each one...they keep him alive FFS. Our philosophy is he gets covid it's curtains basically so why not have a jab.🤷 But then his philosophy is work till you drop litterally...consultants nightmare 😏 can I go to work...no..why not? Etc etc.
Just think maybe some of this anti Vax stuff needs filtering through a common sense filter folks?
But then you've answered your own question. I couldn't give a toss if 99% want to be jabbed for COVID. And as you say a common sense approach would be anyone who is particularly vulnerable would probably be wise to get the jab. The issue I have is that for a vast proportion of us- we are extremely unlikely to die of covid- therefore why can't we choose whether we want it or not- it clearly doesn't stop the spread however it probably does reduce symptoms if you get it. Therefore in mind it should be taken on a case by cases basis and for the individual to decide as ultimately it's only themselves they're really putting at risk whether you take it or not. Children getting a jab for a disease they won't die or even really get ill from when the jab in question has not been around long enough to know long term effects is not a common sense approach IMO- it's reckless.

What I want to know is with all the Vax passports/travel restrictions etc is- when everyone on the planet has been made to have it who do we then point the finger at when a new variant arrives or general cases are still skyrocketing?

For the record, I am not anti vaccine. I was a against being used as lab rat for testing purposes.
My stand on this from a very early point was RNA vaccine is going to be classed as a medical breakthrough or a disaster. Only time will tell which.
As for pzifer, it is a treatment not a vaccine.

the whole heath service is f***ed in my option! Don't get me wrong they have ALWAYS been there when I have needed them, can't fault them on the rare occasions when i have need them.
But, my wife has been trying to see her gp since Danny was born, nothing urgent, but she has just had a baby and would like to see her doctor! Called up a few times to be told no appointments, try again tomorrow....... eventfully got through to the receptionist to be told, its not urgent we wont see you! She asked when should she call to get an appointment, she said well don't call on a Monday anyway!!

Couldn't agree more- and I'm not into conspiracies either. If the jab was wiping out COVID- as in literally stopped those who have it from spreading any further and it was (as they initially promised) the way out of all this s**t I might (albeit begrudgingly) have it for the sake of some greater good- but they're going to have to do a bit better than this to convince me as it stands

We all know the NHS is a collosal burden on a government- if I was into conspiracy theories it would seem logical to me that the government are purposely allowing the NHS to get into such a state that the only alternative is privatisation.

I’m pretty sure Graham’s looked into it , If the research he done into buying a duck is anything to go by he will of researched it to death! I know what your saying though . I think given the seriousness of the situation everyone should have an opinion one way or the other and all should be respected but it is hard to hear some justifications in both camps . I know an old hippy who has done just about every drug known and unknown to man since the sixties but said to me “ who knows what they put in it “

To me it would seem the way to go. Alot of our friends have had babies lately and most of them went private. We Didn't, and the care we got was top notch from day one!
But as for GPs, id say they possibly should be privatised. Might cut out alot of the "wasters" sitting in GPs for no reason. Last time I was in a GP I honestly reckon I was the only one there for a genuine reason!

My old man is doing his HGV at the moment, called his GP for a medical, No sorry you have to go private for that now! £100 for a 1o minute appointment

it wouldn't be such a burden if we weren't having to treat/look after millions of immi.s/layabouts/illegals/etc. that have never contributed a bean in their lives and expect the same as those that have ..... couple that with the thousands of deadwood, middle management, that spend most of their working lives, within it, justifying their existence and the burden wouldn't look so bad  ..... as for the GPs ... if they had the balls to send most of the waiting room blockers packing, signed off, there would be a lot more time for genuine need, like Aiden's wife.
Must say that my surgery has always been (up 'til all this sh1t - no idea currently) excellent for me ..... they only ever hear from me when I REALLY need to see someone ... twice in the last 9 years, that I can recall and they have always fitted me in, virtually immediately.

Broke my foot in the very first lockdown..... yes I was working. Went to local A&E, straight in seen and sorted within 45 mins. They did refer me to the fracture clinic at the big hospital a week later, I was reluctant to go but knew my foot was in bad shape. Again straight in, seen and sorted, I asked the nurse and she said it is dead in here compared to normal times, no weekend breaks from drunk people or the usual "my arm hurts" people.... just the few remaining hard working people as she described me! 😁

Issue round here is the villages are litterally doubling in size but they aren't building and new docs or hospitals...so do the math
