Someone's put 50p in this c..t again,khan not NHS or government,declaring emergency in London,1) wants more money,2) trying to get masks mandated for outdoors wear 3) political posturing ahead of next election

only those with summat to hide should fear ID cards ...... just about every Eu citizen carries some form of national ID and are obliged to. the ability to prove who you are with one simple piece of ID is IMHDO a great idea .... could end up with a serious round up of ne'er do wells, illegals, Pikies :giggle: , and anyone else who currently 'lurks' below the radar ..... bring it on

I don't like the idea for numerous reasons:
There is no reason ID cards would be used to sort out your list ne'er do wells. Most could be sorted now with a bit more will and less political correctness.
It is another imposition on normal law abiding people - the "bad guys" will get round it as always. It is not like there is no tax evasion or organised crime in the EU
It is too open to abuse. You will need it to purchase some items, then entry to certain places, then to purchase more and more items and entry to more and more areas and with modern tech before you know it you will be comletely controlled as to where you can go and what you can buy by some algorithum that decides you used unsafe words in a posting on the internet.
Why not inject it into people like microchipping pets? - they can't lose it or accidentally leave it somewhere
I've read 1984, it was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual.

not sure masks make much difference.

Friend of ours husband (50 and fit, runner) was feeling crap for a week collapsed on stairs. got test positive. in hospital now. His wife and 3 kids all tested negative. hows that work.

The lads were talking about this Friday lunch I'm working in Ashby atm with local guys. One was supposed to be going coombe Abbey for walk Sunday but cancelled after this. He was a sparky though and they are pretty soft!

Kinda bizzarre round here . Mway never felt so busy this morning..and yet from news folk are dropping dead down south ..🤔🤔
Maybe folk have had enough and decided to just crack on and earn a living and do their own risk assessment?
Don't know about anyone else but home schooling is going to help booze sales.😣

its alright for the mp's, civil servants, nhs staff, police, teachers etc they haven't lost a single penny since the start of the madness almost a year ago. No furlough on 80%, not like the self employed on three parts of f**k all or 1 man band ltd comp on bread and water.

People in the latter have had their Jan tax bills and have had enough.

I don't blame them at all.

80% of your wages
Bit commuting costs
No morning costa
No lunch time meal deal
No nights out
No meals out
No going and buying new clothes to go out in

= Slot of people with more money in there pockets than before

talking to one of my old customers the other day on the 'dog .... tells me that a lot of his subbies have been claiming their £2.5k a month as their 'income stream' has been affected ........ and still putting in a full week with him on their usual rates ....... presumably HMRC're gonna catch up with them .....eventually :unsure: ..... he wasn't happy as he did not want to be 'implicated' in any 'fraudulent activities' and end up with a full blown HMRC investigation at some future point in time:mad:

Up until the more recent self employed support scheme the first 2 only asked you to tick a box saying that you had been affected by covid19. Now this is as open ended as you like even just having to take you're own van into work or baiting by yourself is an effect. Grant no 3 however asked if you had been impacted financially by covid. I claimed the first 2 but haven't bothered this time. Currently I've plenty work to go at and as long as i can get materials i don't see I'll be stopping. Hopefully......

Hence why some folk don't want to work...so when things picked up last year and they called and said when do I come back ..the answer was...👋👋

I read they might come up with a package for the Ltd company directors effected. Seen 7.5k mentioned but think geared to lower earners, single director not muti million jobbies. I'd probably be to stubborn to cash that cheque as I've done nothing but oppose every step the govt have taken and disregard any rule I can which effects me (at least I'm honest!)

Most subbies I know have had between 12 and 18k for free. Taxable though.
