Well when you think it's only 50mm wider for brickwork but they want footing dug 150mm wider...doesn't make sense to me.And maybe the brickies won't moan about not enough room to work

I think in this case it's increased because of the extra loading of two floors of block and beam.

All cavity walls are 750mm here, internal walls are 600mm, building control want 150mm either side of the wall. Some jobs now are 900mm founds for cavity walls

Versatile Equipment tried the same with me with an E27. Wanted nigh on £37k, dropped it to £33k as a 'special deal for a long term Bobcat customer'. Fk right off.

I've had the same experice from takeuchi and bobcat. Both quoting 36-38k. Sod haggling, il take my money elsewhere.

Yeah, they’ve got everything on as standard, and even on my 1.5 you can alter the flow of both aux circuits with simple knobs on the dash

750 footings are nice to dig, i think the days of 450 founds are pretty much gone, unless it’s a single internal ground floor block wall somewhere!

Still doing 450 for one developer to save money. Plenty of machine drivers that really struggle with such a tolerance

None that I have dug recently that are under new regs have gone wider than 600mm.

Been doing 600mm for quite a while now and the occasional spine wall at 450mm.
150mm cavity still gives 125mm bearing either side although clay boards would probably mean wider trenches but the aholes at whatever bco won't come out on site till gone 1pm so too late by the time most of it is hacked out. That one last week that was over 2m deep the paper work said call to arrange pre site visit, with a mobile number for the inspector....
Who then got pissy as he was called on the mobile number then refused to come out before works started, saying they don't do that. Luckily we were deep enough but if he wanted clay boards could have brought a load of misery

Something that puzzles me is so many of the independent BC out fits that inspect on behalf of a warranty provider are happy for you to just submit photo's maybe after a initial visit if you're lucky, to a large foundation that's being dug and poured over a period of days, the photos are never reviewed before you pour the next section, what happens if the section of foundation in a particular picture is unacceptable? Or do they just sit on it and use it as a excuse to void the warranty cover in the future?
