Any one put them down regular?
Do you put anything under them? I was thinking strip top soil and level sub soil, maybe a bit of fill sand to trim it up. Customer saying just put them on the top soil?

Depends if your laying rail on top of them. Lol.

My mate lays loads, like thousands and thousands of them! Cut down of set of forks is the tool.
straight onto topsoil or subsoil, or run the powerharrow over first so they sit nice. I do believe there is 9 different types of sleeper, only certain ones go up to others etc

Well i would say the amount of prep work will depend on how good you want the finish. But with remembering if they are a bit up and down to begin with they'll only get worse. Bit like the modern way of surfacing roads built up in layers like choppy sea and rely on top coat to level up and wonder why it doesn't last.

There`s a bit of work to reduce the slope on the ground to something a bit more level, so hopefully a compacted cut and fill should be OK.
I must of been over thinking it, trimming it up with sand first

or the Groesonnen road lately ..... diafknbolical .... was better 'fore they so say 'repaired/resurfaced' it ..... a complete waste of macadam and effort ... should be bloody shot !!
