I know afew of you have these , I kinda want one, I’ve been maxed out our ts421 Stihl saw so many times on knock throughs etc, I think it’s time for a upgrade. Stihl/Husky any good? Hard to find decent 2nd hand ones…

Have considered the cut and break, I do like the idea of plunge cutting pockets out with the chainsaw for needle props etc. We currently drill and break them out which is time consuming!
Ring saws are soooo expensive!!

Builder doing my extension had one of the evolution electric disk cutters, I seem to remember it went slightly deeper than a normal ts420 when cutting into walls.

There is a bloke who advertises on one of the streetworks pages on FB offering all sorts of hydraulic chainsaws. Ring saws and all other civils kit as reckoned of the utility companies

Watching conc chainsaw on YouTube and actually standing holding one in use are two completely different things I would think. Similar with the cut and break there must be a big enough downside (cost) otherwise everyone would have one.

Mostly I want to see peoples faces when I attack a wall with a chainsaw

We have one - 14” blade I think. Nice light saw and it starts every time! Not as much power as the Makita Petrol though, and to be fair that starts every time as well (unlike the Stihl or my Husqvarna)

Issue with the cut and break is speed, be a lot quicker with a chainsaw, with cut and break you’re cutting about 50mm then stopping snapping the concrete and cleaning out the cut then go again. I’d still rather one over a chainsaw though they are seriously hard to use for any length of time especially cutting out in front of you. The 110v husqvarna cut and break is a great compromise and you can cut flush with it which you won’t be able to do with the chainsaw and are about £1300 + vat

Ring saws are expensive but if it’s a tool in regular use it’s well worth it, an occasional use I’d have the cut and break. Dave if doing pockets you’d be surprised what you can achieve with cut and break the blades are only 230mm so can achieve neat cuts too

The side arm where the belt is would need to be longer, and you’d probably be a bit short on torque.

Very possible but like the bigger husky the ts800 is a bigger engine. I bet they're a fair lump to hold up for off the floor cutting.

I've used the big makitas and they are really unwealdly things
The ts410 and 420 are way more balanced than the rear handle designs
