Cleaning workshop floor

Can anyone give me advice on cleaning a heavily oil covered floor a clean? Trying to take it back to paint it.

Yep, a brush like this will bring it up like new.

Probably won't get any paint to stick as the oil will have soaked in. Would you need to grind the top off?

AIG do a chemical called enviroclean, meant to be able to break down oil and can be safely washed down drain. I'd be tempted to hit it with some TFR 1:1 with hot water. Warm caustic helps to move oil and grime bit

The sales man from AIG is a bit of a pest, they do good products and we like the stuff but there's only so much different spray cans and chemicals you need. I'll send him your way

As above, start with a steam cleaner. Sorry Aiden but a wire brush won’t do s**t for oil contamination.
Grinding the top off afterwards will help a Lot and is probably worth it just for giving you a smoother surface. Small voids can be filled with a resin repair compound or a mix of 1:1 kiln dried sand and cement with sbr as the sole wetting additive. If a large area then I’d hire a proper grinder, but a 9” with a diamond grinding cup is good for smaller areas and 5” for corners etc.

Try g101 works on small stains never tried it on a big area,

as has been said, lots of chemicals about ... the more caustic the better .... have a can of stuff here, that I'll have to look at the name of ..... but was the bollox ... 5 FLTs running around the shop and various hydraulically powered gear all left their marks on my shop floor ... this stuff was awesome ... will look tomorrow
