It’s possible to do a professional competence interview in lieu of a full NVQ if you’re a more established operator and staring down the barrel at retirement. I do it three months ago. First thing the assessor said was “bloody heck, I don’t get many people older than me doing this.”

I’m in the middle of using their online site to do the renewal for my card . 2 days so far in the office and I’m still not done . 5 phone calls to them yesterday . I went to work today to give myself a less stress full day as I couldn’t cope with another the same as yesterday .

They have changed the upper level test to include aspects about gender equality and identity in the work place.

I redid my CITB touchscreen test the other day and one of the questions was asking what MIND (the mental health charity) is!
What relevance to any sort of health and safety on a construction site does that have ffs?
It is the most pointless waste of time and money on existence.

I am fortunate not to need this bullshit as I never go near large sites, myself and my blokes have tickets of the 4 hour assessment variety which I think wise but if I ever had to go down this route again (did it all with citb in the 90’s) it would be time to pack it and bugger about lorry driving!

So if that question was the difference between a pass or fail and you failed.. your mental health could then be effected all because you didn’t know what the mental health charity was.. you’d loose your job and then be homeless and probably starve…..

I didn't really have a need for cscs card but read that the new stuff was coming in so did the old version and applied for the card. Now have 4 years before I have to worry about whether it's a they or a zhem
