CHAS/SMAS Contractor accreditation?

Have recently been asked by a ‘potential’ customer whether I am a SMAS registered to which I replied…huh? After talking for a while I realised it’s basically the same thing as CHAS I am not an accredited contractor but have done subby work alongside others who are. My question is it worth it or is just a load of bollocks for not a lot of gain?

Easy enough to get your self don't pay someone else to do it. I do my renewal each year.

Got to have an up to date asbestos awareness ticket £20 online.

Rams, and have the correct qualifications sssts or smsts Or have a member of staff with it

This is where some things are wrong .1st aid course should be bare minimum cost. But should be a test where the applicant is put under pressure to perform cpr etc.
Pressure testing produces results from training, training alone is just training

Having done a EFAW course with Forestry module last year I will never do a standard course again.
I need to re do mine. EFAW is the basic course ? And just add modules? Or am I missing something?
