Yeah I currently have a 130D. Great digger I love it. I recently picked up a job and there is a lot of work on it for two 13 tonners for the next while. I had thought rather than hire a digger if I could pick up a tidy 130b in around the mid 20k mark use it for the duration of the Job and then sell it on again I could hopefully still get close to what I payed for it.

Gave up looking for a decent 130B they are like hens teeth. Any thing older had hi hours and I was worried if I took it to site it might let me down with reliability. So I extended my budget with a little finance and bought a nice clean 130C. Undercarriage isn’t the best on it. But I plan to take as long as I can out of it, and when I got to sell the machine again later on down the line I will put new running gear on then and hopefully when some one comes to see it and sees the nice new running gear it will help sell the machine and I can hopefully get as much of my money back as possible.

Hopefully it works out. Surely I can’t lose that much on a machine. And I Would be out money anyway if I just hired. The way I looked at it was I need a digger for around 6 months to a year. Possibly more. I could have hired a machine for around £300 a week. If I had it for (JUST) 10 weeks that’s £3000 I’m out. Where as if I buy a digger keep it a (YEAR) Provided I don’t have any major breakdowns I could hopefully get very close to what I payed. Now I have to factor in putting on a new undercarriage at roughly £3-4K but the way I look at it is I would be out this money anyway on hire and I can ask a little more for my digger when selling it to try and claw some of this back. That’s my plan anyway. Sounds good in my head but might not be in real life. Lol

I'd say it's a fine plan ... as long as the whole world doesn't go tits up in the next 12 months .... but the machine'll still be capable of earning and it's yours not someone elses ..... no brainer TBH ... it'd be my way forward too .... it was 6+ years ago ;)

Hopefully the world doesn’t s**t it’s self in the next few months but to be honest it is pretty f***ed at the minute. And I have never been busier with work in my life before than what I am at the minute. Lol

I know of a very clean js130 coming up forsale.. I think it’s a 2014, not a mark on it, I’m the only person other than the owner to drive it, I’d genuinely buy it if I had the spare cash.
