Hi got a belle diesel mixer 2018 ( Yanmar l40 ) with electric start.
lent the machine out to a friend and it got abused,
Engine starts fine but will not idle,
Thought the springs etc had failed on the idle assembly.
have replaced it for a stop start type assembly and sure I have the two springs on right possition. But when it’s starts it just revs hard,
How do you slow the idle down, I thought it was the adjustable idle stop but after reading some bits I think it’s mainly down the the spring locations, does anybody have any idea as my local shop can’t look at it for 4 weeks
Thanks in advance

I'd start by looking to see if the spring linkage has got bashed or bent.

I can’t believe anyone can borrow something & return it in a lesser condition than when they borrowed it. I would probably take it back to them & insert it where the sun don’t shine while the engine is at full revs & without any lubricant.

Could it be a bolt on the governor mechanism that they've adjusted to cause the machine to rev hard on purpose in an attempt to speed the mixing process?
