I think you are mistaken, it is all about raising maximum revenue through fines. If politicians really believed in the green s**t they would lead by example and give up flying, government chauffer driven cars etc.

you only have to look at the way they all fly around the world in private jets and all the chauffeur driven motors with single occupants to realise the level of contempt they all have for the rest of us 'peasants'
want to go to Davos/etc.? .. take a scheduled flight and a bus from the airport you tossers .... these ppl DGAF about anyone or anything else other than their own egos and avoiding 'mixing' with the 'great unwashed' outside of their ivory towers

I've often wondered if DPF burn out cycles are taken into account in a vehicles overall omission figures, and if so how is their frequency calculated??

I highly doubt it. At the end of the day all this stuff can't alter how much grud comes out the back. Only alter it to a slightly more tolerable type of crud

We had the opportunity of electing a politician that was principled/genuine and used public transport. No one wanted him as the country's leader!

I'm only half way through the link @bobthebuilder .. it's a tome ..... seen some of it before, (as said, do follow him a bit) -- but everyone should have access to it (and all its links) and read it thoroughly ..
I despair for us all, but more so the next generation and our grandkids particularly aaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
