" Heathrow also signed the UK Steel Charter today at British Steel Scunthorpe, indicating a commitment to giving steel producers in the UK a fair chance of winning tenders. Estimates suggest construction of a third runway could require 400,000 tonnes of steel. Signing the charter does not mean that Heathrow promises not to import steel, just that it will ensure that its procurement processes give UK-based suppliers their best chance. "

Open day attendees observed the staged assembly process; beginning with ground floor panels being lifted into place in the morning, followed by first-floor cassettes, and culminating with the roofing structure in the afternoon " and who put the roof together, when, where and on what ????

" The government’s policy been implemented in a somewhat rushed and incoherent manner. .........“The government also does not seem to have any plan to measure progress or determine the success of this policy. Effective policy must be evidence based and be able to demonstrate its efficacy. Sadly, this is not the case here.” "

Don't complain - suggest what's better
And still closed

there is a lot of corruption with planning. I looked to buy a bit of land adjacent to a railway station a few years ago, but looking at the planning history it had been refused use as a car park and in the planning stated it would never get use as as a car park. Went by yesterday and guess what it is now a car park. It really annoys me.

I’ve got 9 houses and 1 commercial unit stuck in planning, some of them have been nearly 3 years since initial surveys were carried out!! How is that sustainable!!
Feedback on one yesterday from our eco warrior friends was that one dimension was missing from the bat loft drawing… we had height, depth and volume on there…. If they really desperately needed the width they could have figured it out - taken them 6 weeks to respond back with that btw!
