The whole thing is pathetic...it all feels far too late.. the horses has nigh on bolted. This whole saga should have been long since sorted.

Watched "the darkest hour" again tonight....makes you realise that we need folk with B*lls in government.
I know it's often said but it's hard not to feel this country is totally buggered.

Sod farm shops, that's just another fad for extorting money, just use your local butchers and the likes.

I don't live in the best of areas but there's plenty of direct from source food...all of which I use and you can't compare it to the supermarket stuff by any means.
Not going to win many food hygiene stars but nice and cheap. Very local.

We've been buying venison recently. Get it delivered in a box. I think as free range unmolested meat comes it's probably about as good as you can get and alot cheaper than the equivalent beef organic box.
I have a trigger happy mate who also breaks a lot of stuff (he’s a farmer).

So we have a ‘workshop for venison’ deal that works very well indeed.

My other half wanted to make a load of stock the other day so he gave me a bin liner full of the bits he normally throws away 😳. Crazy. One shoulder roasted for two hours with some chicken fat came out like lamb, and fed both of us with leftovers for her the next day.

I’d hate to have to buy venison, I hear it’s expensive. These are the just rubbish, I ave a freezer full of the legs and back strap he gives me for using my workshop.

I think Jingye have realised that they can’t get away with half-melted ball bearings in rebar over here.
and not just in rebar Bri ... have ruined many a band saw blade cutting section with a bloody ball bearing in it -- in supposedly European steel :mad:

" The government this week seized control of British Steel from its Chinese owner Jingye and is ensuring that raw materials form the USA and coking coal from Australia reaches Scunthorpe in time to keep the blast furnaces running. "

" ... structural steelwork contractor Billington Holdings said today that closure would have made no difference to the UK construction industry.........According to Ian Lawson, chairman of Billington Holdings and previously chief executive of rival steelwork contractor Severfield, reckons that imported steel would be just as good for the UK construction industry as domestically-made steel. "

obviously never encountered the 'ball bearing' scenario then :unsure:
